Job Responsibilities

As a chef, you will be responsible together with your colleagues for the preparation and cooking of hot and cold meals for patients, staff, and visitors. You are expected to participate in planning the workday and contribute to developing work methods and routines together with your colleagues.

Your daily work also includes managing self-control and collaborating smoothly with other parts of the operation. Other tasks that occur in our kitchen include inventory management, tray setting, dishwashing, and participating in lunch service in the restaurant.

You will work as part of the team of chefs with us. Cooking from scratch with high-quality ingredients is something you will do daily. With us, there is the opportunity to work at different stations in our production.

About the Workplace

Meal service is a vital and critical part of the hospitals' supply, and we work for a robust hospital – where patients and staff are guaranteed a safe and secure environment.

Meal service Varberg produces about 700 meals for patients, staff, and visitors at Halland's hospital in Varberg. In addition, food is produced for catering and café operations. We have about 30 employees distributed across several different professions.

As a chef, you will have varied working hours; however, the most common starting time is 06:30 and the latest ending time is 17:00. The operation runs on a 6-week schedule where chefs work 2 out of 6 weekends.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a trained chef and has worked several years in the kitchen industry. Experience in cooking special diets is a plus. Furthermore, experience and completed training in self-control, HACCP, and if you have worked with the dietary software Matilda is advantageous. We expect you to have good computer skills.

As a person, you are driven and service-oriented and have the will to take responsibility and show great commitment. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
