We are looking for a Technical Project Manager for an assignment in Stockholm.

This is a consulting assignment.

The position is full-time.

The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, which places high demands on flexibility and teamwork.

The Assignment and Work Area

The BECCS project is founded on a global demand for negative emissions, a need emphasized in the IPCC's 2018 report on the 1.5C target. The report highlighted the importance of carbon sinks and stated that even with drastic emission reductions, countries must invest in carbon capture to meet the Paris Agreement. Bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS) offers a promising way forward, especially for Sweden, where there is strong political and societal engagement for climate neutrality. With support from EU funding and an established Swedish climate policy since 2017, BECCS represents both a local and global response to these challenges and aims for sustainable large-scale operations.

The changing Nordic energy market also underscores the need for BECCS. The client's district heating operations must now compete with low-emission alternatives such as heat pumps. To maintain its market-leading position, the client is investing in BECCS to make district heating a model for sustainability and meet customers' and society's expectations for renewability and climate performance.

The responsible engineer for civil, structural, and architectural (CSA) work has the overall responsibility for leading and reviewing the design work within civil, structural, and architectural engineering, as well as geotechnics and marine constructions within the BECCS project. The role is part of the client organization and is responsible for ensuring the delivery of the BECCS project.

As the responsible engineer, you will lead and review the work of our external engineering partners during the execution of the design work and ensure that interfaces within the discipline are coordinated effectively. You are responsible for ensuring that collaboration between engineering partners functions optimally to achieve cost- and time-efficient design solutions within CSA.

In this role, you will report to the Engineering Manager and also be part of cross-functional delivery teams.

• Lead and provide technical guidance in the development of engineering and design strategies and concepts.
• Ensure that engineering work complies with applicable norms, standards, legal requirements, equipment specifications, and operational goals for process equipment.
• Drive quality improvement and performance development within the organization.
• Be responsible for leading and directing the work of external engineering partners in civil construction, engineering, and design.
• Coordinate technical issues and design input between different engineering partners and their respective areas of responsibility.
• Review and challenge proposed design solutions in construction, structure, and architecture from engineering teams.
• Develop or select engineering and design standards and work processes to ensure that quality requirements are consistently met.

Requirements (Note, mandatory)

• Master's degree in civil engineering, preferably with a focus on construction, or another relevant discipline.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
• Solid experience working on large-scale process industry or energy projects.
• In-depth knowledge of industrial steel structures, piling works, and concrete structures.
• Experience with Scandinavian building regulations and standards.
• Experience in both design and implementation phases of large industrial projects.

Desirable

• Experience with international large-scale projects with complex interfaces and stakeholder management.
• Fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written.
