Mellanhedsskolan is seeking a dedicated special teacher to teach students in grades 6-9. As a special teacher, you will work closely with other educators in the organization to find various ways to move the work forward. In addition to teaching, you will also provide guidance to the school's teaching assistants, as well as undertake investigative assignments and follow-ups according to the governing documents. You will be responsible for development plans, action programs, and extra adaptations. Continuous contact and collaboration with guardians are also an important part of the job.

In your role, you will work to help students feel safe, trusted, and joyful at school. Building slow trust is important for success in the role. Qualifications

You who are applying for the position are a licensed primary school teacher with further education as a special teacher with a focus on IF (intellectual disabilities). We prefer that you have experience working with students with IF in adapted primary school. You are well acquainted with the school's governing documents and actively work with leadership and stimulation, as well as extra adaptations and special support. Furthermore, you develop your work based on evidence-based research. As a person, you are engaged and trustworthy with a strong interest in student health and school development. You have an open and creative approach and adapt your work according to the students' needs. The assignment is characterized by collaborative work with colleagues and guardians, so it is important that you are easy to collaborate with. A very good communication ability is also required, both to create functioning relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians, but also to guide the school's teaching assistants. You are accustomed to working in a low-arousal manner with clarifying pedagogical tools. You should also be well acquainted with alternative communication, such as TAKK and AKK.

About the Workplace

Mellanhedsskolan has an adapted primary school for students in grades 1-9, which includes both subject-specific and interdisciplinary approaches. Currently, we have a total of 56 students distributed across eight classes. We also have after-school care and short-term supervision according to LSS 9:7. Our vision is that knowledge and safety go hand in hand. Creating a good learning environment that meets the student's needs and where the student can develop and participate is seen as our greatest mission to create independent individuals.
