Valmet works with service and spare parts for power and heating boilers as well as soda boilers for the paper and pulp industry.

Your main tasks

As a machine welder, you will work on joining tube and fin materials in a portal welding machine, where you will weld under powder/flux using welding method 121. The materials you will work with range from black steel to nickel-based materials.

Your main tasks will include:

• Preparing and assembling materials for welding.
• Operating and controlling the portal welder and performing fin calibration.
• Reading and interpreting drawings to ensure correct welding.
• Performing gas cutting and aligning materials.
• Welding with MIG/MAG and MMA.
• Cutting and beveling tube/fin materials.
• Establishing measurement protocols for the finished product.

The position also includes participating in assembly work and welding in other production sections. The work is project-based and can last from a few days to several months, and you will work shifts (day/evening). You will work closely with a great team while collaborating with supervisors and the quality department to ensure the highest quality in all projects.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who has:

• A three-year upper secondary education or equivalent.
• Experience in reading drawings and welding under powder 121.
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English in both speech and writing.

Meritorious:

• Certificate for hot work.
• Forklift and truck licenses.
• Experience in inspecting and examining welds.

Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities. You are self-driven and have a drive to always do your best, but you also enjoy collaborating and creating good teamwork. You have good communication skills and constantly see opportunities for improvement and development, both for yourself and for the company.
