The laboratory is a support function for the main processes of water and sewage. The position is located at the Sjöbo water treatment plant, within the Water and Sewage Business Area. At Sjöbo water treatment plant, 14 people work to produce drinking water for those living and working in Borås.

Job Responsibilities: Your main responsibilities as a Laboratory Engineer will be to ensure safe operations in the laboratory and to ensure that the function meets statutory analyses and self-monitoring analyses by performing chemical and microbiological analyses on raw water and drinking water, as well as operational analyses according to a specified sampling program. Conduct sampling at the Sjöbo water treatment plant and external facilities as well as at customer sites.

Other common tasks include planning, sample reception, reporting of analysis results, and maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.

Your background and qualities: You have a university degree or equivalent post-secondary education in chemistry, microbiology, or similar. You should have experience in laboratory work. A background in food production and analysis work as well as LIMS systems is an advantage. You are a proficient user of digital tools.

As a person, you are structured and meticulous, maintaining high quality in your work. You are self-driven, engaged, and have a strong sense of responsibility. You possess positive, communicative, and outgoing traits. We highly value teamwork and respect for others to achieve the best work results together. Fluent Swedish in both speech and writing is required for the position. A valid driver's license (B) is also required. In your role, you will be working with classified information.

Good to know The position is full-time with working hours from 7 AM to 4 PM on weekdays, located at the Sjöbo water treatment plant. Irregular working hours may occur. The position is classified, and a security check and background check will therefore be conducted before a hiring decision is made. Swedish citizenship is a requirement.
