RESPONSIBILITIES


The new Technical Product Director for Södra Cell International will be someone who can take the initiative and push for product development through the establishment of contacts and projects. Together with the account managers and others, the successful candidate will develop and manage a variety of projects between customers and our pulp mills, and Södra Innovation and New Business. With high technical skills in the pulp field, they will contribute to and create conditions to start in-depth technical projects with Södra’s customers, chairing the Product councils.

We are looking for someone to lead a team of four highly-competent Technical Product Managers, helping them to meet their strategic goals and perform in their roles. Responsibilities include training the sales force to increase their knowledge and understanding of different product characteristics related to our and our customers' products.

The new Technical Product Director will be part of Södra Cell International’s management team. He/she will develop relationships with existing customers and our internal production team by adopting Södra’s ethos of value-generating relationships and a long-term approach.

EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate for this position will have a master’s degree in civil engineering, ideally in chemistry or a process industry. Experience of the forest industry at a senior level and fluency in English, both oral and written are expected, and a knowledge of Swedish would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of pulp or paper and its chemical production processes and will be used to working in an innovative way, cultivating relationships with both internal and external contacts, as well as experience of leading a team. Likely to be a results-oriented team player, he/she must be willing to work in a variety of environments, with proven communication skills and an ability to respond quickly: A person who inspires trust and can create long-term relationships.

ABOUT SÖDRA

Södra is Sweden's largest forest owner association. Our operations range from traditional products such as pulp and wood products, to new exciting areas such as renewable energy, lighter construction materials and dissolving pulp used for clothing. We are not content refining the products we already have, even though our customers have relied on and used them for years - we are constantly looking for new uses for the world's best raw materials.

LOCATIONS

The role is full time. Possible locations are Värö (south of Gothenburg), Växjö, Mönsterås or Mörrum.

A fondness for travel is essential as this role involves 60-70 travel days / year, most of which will be international.
