About Us

The Employment and Business Development Department is responsible for preparing people for work and studies, as well as developing the business climate in the city in collaboration with the business sector. The department consists of approximately thirty employees working with labor market and business issues, as well as adult education. Within the department is the Solna Adult Education unit, which offers municipal adult education in Solna through a tender process via an authorization system run jointly with nine other municipalities, Vux Norrort.

Currently, 24 education providers are authorized to deliver education to residents of Solna. The unit is responsible for study and career guidance, admissions, support for students in need of extra assistance, outreach activities, administration, and grade management. The unit is also responsible for contractor management, contract follow-up, and ensuring that systematic quality work is carried out in accordance with steering documents and political goals.

The unit aims to meet the needs of Solna residents for adult education and to provide the best possible service. At our center, residents can apply for Swedish for Immigrants (SFI), basic and upper secondary Komvux courses, receive information and study/career guidance, and take level tests.

What Does the Job Entail?

You work closely with students, focusing heavily on identifying support needs and creating a secure and sustainable start to studies. The target group is adult Solna residents who need support to succeed in their studies within municipal adult education. You meet students with different backgrounds and prerequisites, suggest pedagogical adjustments, and follow up on how the students are progressing.

You work closely with study and career counselors, administrators, and the principal, and collaborate with education providers regarding students' study situations and needs for adjustments. Through our cooperation agreements with other municipalities, you will also become part of a larger network for exchanging experiences.

The role also includes responsibility for a time-limited project focused on developing forms for closer follow-up and support for our students who need support during their studies. The purpose is to strengthen students' conditions to complete their studies and reduce study interruptions. You are also involved in the development of our student health work, focusing on promoting and preventive efforts.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for you who have

• an academic education in pedagogy, behavioral science, study and career guidance, or other education that the employer deems relevant
• experience from municipal adult education
• experience from student health work
• familiarity with digital tools
• good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

It is an advantage if you have:

• experience in designing adjustment proposals
