Description
Frejaskolan is a comprehensive school covering preschool class to year 9, as well as a special needs school for years 1–9, with an associated after-school center. Approximately 650 students attend the school, and 100 staff members work here. The school leadership consists of a principal and four deputy principals. At Frejaskolan, we continuously work to create a safe climate in an stimulating learning environment. Through structured, varied, and creative teaching, we aim to encourage a trusting study environment characterized by calm and focus.
Frejaskolan is a certified HBTQI school and has worked together with West Pride to develop an action plan to raise awareness about work related to all grounds of discrimination. The school's vision and motto are "For each other – together." These words guide our work to be, among other things, a "School as an arena – school." For several years, it has been an important working method here to offer various activities to our students so that they have a good leisure time and equal upbringing conditions. This should lead to children and young people who are motivated to study and look hopefully to their future.
Job Responsibilities
As a special needs teacher here, you work at the organizational, group, and individual levels to create and develop learning environments that support all students' development towards the school's knowledge goals. At all levels, you work with promoting, preventive, and remedial measures.
You are part of a student health team where you, together with other special needs teachers, collaborate with the school's other professions, such as the principal, deputy principal, psychologist, counselors, and school nurses. This is to support and strengthen the students' learning and development. Together with the student health team and other colleagues, you conduct assessments and investigations to identify and meet students' needs for special support. Furthermore, you help formulate action plans and conduct teaching based on what is written in these plans. Some collaboration with external actors may also occur.
You will work with several digital systems, including Vklass, which is the school's learning platform, and PMO.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a certified primary teacher with further education as a special needs teacher. Experience working as a special needs teacher is meritorious. Experience with the digital systems PMO and Vklass is also meritorious.
You find it easy to collaborate with and mentor teachers to create conditions for every student to develop. Encouraging participation, openness, and tolerance is seen as a given. It is important that you can work independently within guidelines and practice, and that you can recommend measures, document, and participate in decisions.
We also expect you to promote a respectful work climate and build good relationships with colleagues, students, and guardians. You do this by being open and accommodating, as well as by listening to your surroundings to understand their needs.
Furthermore, you have the ability to remain stable under pressure, balancing different demands while maintaining a positive attitude. Continuous development of the operations takes place here, so we would like you to contribute new ideas and perspectives to work-related issues and challenge methods, working styles, and mindsets.
