About the position

The position is a combined role where you are employed within Perioperative Medicine and Intensive Care (PMI) and are organizationally part of the Clinical Research Unit Solna (KFE-S).

The working hours are distributed on average throughout the year as follows:

  • 50 percent research time at KFE-S
  • 50 percent clinical work as an anesthesia and/or intensive care nurse within PMI

As a research nurse, you work with coordinating, planning, and conducting research projects led by researchers within PMI. The role does not involve independent primary responsibility for research projects, but rather close collaboration with research groups where you are a key enabler to ensure studies are conducted as planned.

You are primarily based within PMI but may also participate in projects in collaboration with other departments.

Your duties include, among other things:

  • Coordinating and conducting studies according to study protocols in collaboration with responsible researchers
  • Following guidelines for research nurses at KFE
  • Ensuring that research is conducted according to current ethical requirements
  • Ensuring correct documentation
  • Performing practical tasks such as sample handling, centrifugation, and freezer management
  • Applying and working according to Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
  • Contributing to informing about and disseminating knowledge regarding ongoing research projects

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Licensed nurse
  • Specialist nurse education in anesthesia and/or intensive care with at least a master's degree
  • Several years of experience working as a specialist nurse

Merits:

  • Academic merits: master's degree, licentiate, or doctoral degree
  • Previous experience in clinical research work or study coordination

The Function Perioperative Medicine and Intensive Care is the hospital's combined resource for anesthesia, surgery, pre- and postoperative care, as well as intensive care for adults.
