Beroendecentrum Stockholm is Sweden's largest addiction clinic. We offer support and assistance to people who have problems with alcohol, drugs, medication, or gambling. Our operations include acute and 24-hour care, local outpatient care, and highly specialized care. We are also a clinic that provides university healthcare as well as research and education.
We are now looking for a nurse for Ward 54, located at St. Göran's Hospital, which belongs to Beroendecentrum Stockholm's section for acute and 24-hour care. The ward is a specialized inpatient unit consisting of 22 beds where we treat patients under the care forms HSL, LPT, and LVM, with psychiatric and somatic conditions related to problematic consumption or alcohol dependence.
We work in care teams consisting of nurses, nursing assistants, and doctors. The ward is also a clinical training unit, which means you may meet students from various professions here.
The Role
As a nurse, you will have a highly varied and stimulating job where great importance is placed on personal responsibility as well as collegial collaboration. Based on the nursing process, you are responsible for the patient's care together with doctors, nursing assistants, and care coordinators. You are part of the patient's social planning and contribute to a good care chain with other actors. Your daily work includes both psychiatric and somatic nursing, which includes everything from supportive conversations to withdrawal assessment and treatment. You also use your medical technical competence in areas such as sedation due to withdrawal, wound dressing changes, catheter insertion, and intravenous treatment. At our clinic, no two days are alike due to the combination of the patients' own conditions and the general length of care stays of 2-3 days.
Qualifications
Registered nurse with an interest in addiction care.

Employment Type
Permanent position, full-time. Day/evening shifts, 38.15 hours/week. We work two weekends out of five. Probationary employment may apply.

Other Information
Selection and interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis.
Beroendecentrum Stockholm conducts alcohol and drug tests as well as extracts from the suspicion and criminal records register prior to new employment.
The position is filled on the condition that it does not need to be claimed for internal reassignment, according to current regulations.
For patient-facing work within Stockholm County Council (SLSO):
- A register check is applied before the decision on employment according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for register checks upon employment.
- Employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment health examination, according to current directives, which takes place through occupational health services before employment.
- Requires, in addition to a Swedish professional license, good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The same requirement is guiding for non-licensed staff with patient contact.
