Västra Berga School is a comprehensive school (grades F-9) with adapted primary school and training school components. In total, we have 380 students and 80 employees. We are a resource-rich school with the will and ability to change and develop our operations.

Job Description

You will be part of the teaching team for grades 7-9, with approximately 120 students, working closely with special needs educators, resource teachers, and subject teachers. We require that you have the competence to:

• Conduct support teaching, both intensive teaching in small groups and in-class support in grades 6-9.
• Conduct assessments, such as pedagogical mapping and screenings.
• Identify and remove barriers in the learning environment, and find appropriate compensatory aids.

You will play a key role in the EHT team (Students in need of extra adjustments and special support), where you help drive development regarding work with students requiring additional support. You are expected to support and supervise the teaching team, for example, in matters regarding working methods and aids that benefit the students.

Here, you have the opportunity to influence working methods, routines, and structures. You will be able to put your own stamp on how we work with student support.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who:

• Are a certified teacher with a degree in Special Education, specializing in language, writing, and reading development (you are welcome to apply even if you are currently undergoing education).
• Have experience working with students with special needs.
• Have experience working in lower secondary school (grades 7-9).
• Can build trusting relationships with teenagers.
• Are structured in documentation work, such as mappings and evaluations of interventions.
• Have good knowledge of compensatory aids.
