Special Needs Teacher at Grillska Gymnasiet
STADSMISSIONENS SKOLSTIFTELSEStockholms län, Stockholm
Previous experience is desired
About the Role
We are looking for you who want to work in a skilled student health team with special educational needs (SEN) responsibilities. As a special needs teacher, you will meet students with various types of challenges and also work to support teachers and mentors. You will work systematically, preventatively, and address issues that arise in ongoing operations. Mapping students' study situations, support needs, and adjustments is part of the role. Communication with school leadership, school psychologists, guardians, as well as external contacts with authorities, also occurs. You will be part of a strong team with clear routines for supporting both students and staff. The team is characterized by openness and close collaboration.
Our schools work with learning and development within common focus areas. These areas fall under the three headings of pedagogy, health, and civic engagement. We develop what, according to science and proven experience, has a positive impact on the learning situation, on the work for the health of students and learners, and so that our students and learners can go out into the world with strong civic engagement.
All lessons are cohesive and long, with 120-180 minutes of teaching time. The lessons follow a structure with clear goals and purposes and vary in working methods.
Our schools work with a strong value base for social improvement and equal value. Therefore, it is important to us that you share our values.
Qualifications
For this position, we expect you to have adequate higher education and a completed special needs teacher education. It is meritorious if you have worked in upper secondary school and/or middle school. If you have subject-specific qualifications, we also see this as meritorious.
We are looking for someone who is flexible, secure, communicative, receptive, and able to choose different approaches to find solutions. You are unpretentious and thrive in an environment where we collaborate and help each other.
To fit the role, you are confident in supervising pedagogical staff and informing about suitable working methods for students who need adjustments and support.
In our schools, personal meetings are important. You should therefore enjoy working with young people and supporting them in their development towards stronger self-esteem and self-efficacy. We value your ability to meet students based on their knowledge and needs, as well as your ability to build good relationships.
You are curious and work actively to ensure that every student develops as far as possible based on their prerequisites.
It is important to us that you are motivated by challenging yourself, your colleagues, and students to contribute to your own as well as the school's and students' development.

The City Mission School Foundation is a non-profit, values-driven main operator that runs Grillska Gymnasiet. With seven upper secondary schools in the Mälaren Valley and approximately 3,000 students, we equip young people with knowledge, security, care, and courage – for the future and for society.
Being values-driven means above all that we are not driven by any other interests than our vision – a school for a more humane society. The schools are independent schools run in foundation form, which means there is no owner taking out profits. Any surplus goes to the development of the operations.
The foundation founder, Stockholm City Mission, has been running education since 1857, and we share the same fundamental, humane view of humanity and values.
Through education, we can prevent exclusion and strengthen the individual's belief in themselves and their own abilities, working towards our vision of a school for a more humane society.
