We are looking for you who want to work as a mother tongue teacher and study counselor in Spanish within the primary school.

The Unit for Mother Tongue and New Arrivals is a workplace characterized by well-being and engagement. Here, we help each other, and everyone's opinions, knowledge, and experiences are equally important regardless of mother tongue. We constantly collaborate across language and cultural boundaries. Our strength lies in our development work, where we work for lifelong learning to ensure equal, high-quality education. The unit currently consists of a unit manager, an assistant unit manager, and approximately 45 educators. The work is carried out at one or more of the municipality's 12 primary schools and Upplands-Bro Gymnasium.

Job Description

The role of mother tongue teacher and study counselor involves working within both the primary school and the upper secondary school. You are responsible for teaching, mapping, planning, and implementing pedagogical work linked to regulatory documents and students' individual needs.

At the unit, we place great emphasis on collaboration and joint planning across language boundaries. You participate in our joint development work at the unit together with your colleagues. You also collaborate with staff at the schools. You act as a link between the knowledge and experiences the student has brought with them and the school they encounter here. You are an important part of the school's values-based work.

Who We Are Looking For

Mother tongue instruction is a very important part of the student's language development and goal achievement. You preferably have a pedagogical education as a foundation. We also look for you to have:

• Spanish as a mother tongue (mandatory).
• Experience in pedagogical work.
• Good collaboration skills.
• Very good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing.
• Good computer skills.
• A solution-focused approach.

It is meritorious to have a Swedish teaching license and experience with a language-developing working method. Although you can travel collectively between schools, we would prefer that you have access to your own car. Great importance is attached to personal suitability. The position requires a certificate from the police's criminal record register.

About the Position

The position is fixed-term until June 17, 2027, but may be extended. Start date as soon as possible or according to agreement.
