The Unit for Military Capability at the Ministry of Defence
Do you want to work at the center of events regarding Swedish and international defense and security policy? The Ministry of Defence is developing its operations based on the changed geopolitical situation and Sweden's membership in NATO. We are looking for you who want to contribute to Sweden's security through developing tasks in a very varied work environment.

As a case officer, you work on issues including NATO's activities for deterrence and defense, and the EU's processes and projects to enable and simplify military mobility. The tasks involve independently handling cases, preparing materials for issues, and coordinating larger processes within the area of responsibility.
The duties include gathering and analyzing materials from the Swedish Armed Forces, other authorities, and international organizations prior to government decisions. Furthermore, the duties involve preparing materials for political leadership, preparing answers to parliamentary questions, interpellations, and inquiries from the public.
Solving these tasks requires the ability to establish and maintain contacts internally and externally, nationally and internationally. The position also involves representing the Ministry of Defence at international meetings and negotiations related to military mobility.

Your background
We are looking for you who have an academic education with a relevant focus, such as economics, political science, law, or equivalent considered comparable for the position. You have current experience working with similar issues in the Government Offices, at a state authority, or at an international organization. Furthermore, you have good knowledge of Swedish public administration as well as knowledge of defense and security policy. The position requires that you have very good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish and English.
Knowledge of the military defense and relevant experience of the Ministry of Defence's issues and the department's issues are seen as meritorious. Experience of negotiation work within the EU as well as current knowledge of NATO, the EU, and military mobility are also seen as meritorious.

As a person, you have a very good ability to work both independently and together with others. To fit the role, you need to be flexible and able to handle different types of tasks. You have good initiative and are responsible and used to working in a structured manner. It is important that you have a developed analytical ability and can handle working under time pressure.

The position is a permanent employment with an initial probationary period of 6 months.
Start date according to agreement.
The position is security classified and a security investigation with register check will be conducted before a decision on employment is made. You must be a Swedish citizen, but may have a foreign background.
