Stockholm City Mission is looking for a lawyer who wants to contribute to our work for a more humane society.

We are looking for a lawyer to contribute to the legal work carried out within our "Meeting Places" (Mötesplatser) area. The work mainly involves providing individual advice to our participants, appealing decisions, acting as a representative, and supporting guides and representatives in legal matters when interacting with participants. The duties also include giving lectures and conducting training initiatives to educate staff on various legal issues.

The position is based at Mötesplats Hässelby, but work may also be carried out at several other units within the Mötesplatser area.

The units organized under the Mötesplatser area carry out activities targeting various needs. We offer, among other things, counseling, representation, networking work, financial advice and support, as well as open activities.

Our participants often live in socially disadvantaged areas, and many do not have Swedish as their first language. Some have lived in Sweden for a long time, while others are newly arrived, and some live completely outside of societal support services. Many participants rely on the help of authorities regarding various issues, such as social law and migration law.

We are looking for you who:

• Have completed a law degree
• Have knowledge of and current experience with social law issues, children's rights, and asylum and migration law work
• Express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish and English. Additional language skills are an advantage
• Have experience meeting people in vulnerable life situations
• Have good pedagogical skills and enjoy conducting short training sessions and information meetings
• Identify with the values of Stockholm City Mission

Other Information

• The position is a full-time (100%) temporary position until December 31, 2027
• Start date according to agreement, but as soon as possible
• Since children and young people are present in our operations, we will request an extract from the criminal record
• The work is performed 100% on-site at the facility
