Description

Gamlestadsskolan is a grades F-9 school located in the historic district of Gamlestaden, serving children and students primarily from the local area and Eastern Gothenburg. The Gamlestaden district is currently in a highly expansive phase with several planned projects to become one of Gothenburg's most important hubs for communication, housing, and services in the future.

Approximately 550 students attend Gamlestadsskolan in grades F-9, and we have four after-school centers where our youngest students can receive care. The school is organized into smaller units within the larger school to foster closeness and ensure every student feels seen. We actively work to create a "We-feeling" where teachers and students share responsibility for the school's environment and well-being. Job Responsibilities

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with qualifications to teach crafts (slöjd) with a focus on wood and metal, in grades 3–9.

As a teacher, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on teaching at both group and individual levels. You adapt the regular curriculum to meet each student where they are. You belong to a work team where you collaborate by giving and receiving support to develop and improve teaching. You will work closely with the textile crafts teacher.

Our wood workshop is well-equipped and relatively new (from 2017). It features bright and nice premises with a shared machine room between the two craft workshops. Your room includes a small machine area with a lathe, scroll saw, etc. There is also a small painting room adjacent to the workshop.

Qualifications

Requirements

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with qualifications to teach crafts with a focus on wood and metal, in grades 3–9. Previous work experience as a teacher is meritorious, but we also welcome newly graduated candidates to apply.
