Essunga Municipality is looking for two social secretaries

Do you want to work as a social secretary in an operation where you receive support in your daily work, have close and accessible leadership, and the opportunity to influence how the work develops? Essunga Municipality is now looking for two social secretaries for our children and youth department.

You have access to methodological support and case handling assistance, as well as close leadership where the manager is available in daily work. The department has both an experienced manager and an experienced senior social secretary on site, which provides security, continuity, and support in the role. As an employee, you also have the opportunity to help develop and shape working methods in a smaller organization where your ideas are valued and can quickly be put into practice. To create balance between work and private life, there is also the possibility of remote work up to two days a week.

About the role

The department is responsible for investigating, assessing, and making decisions regarding support and protection needs for children, young people, and their families. The work is governed by the Social Services Act (SoL) and, if necessary, the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU), as well as other relevant legislation. With a clear focus on local solutions, we work on change processes together with families in close collaboration with open care and other actors.

As a social secretary, you work with the entire case process, from intake and preliminary assessment to follow-up of measures. The role includes investigations and needs assessments, collaboration with schools, healthcare, and other actors, as well as work with foster homes and follow-up of children's placements in the role of child secretary. The work also includes contributing to preventive work and the development of the department.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who are educated as a social worker or have a bachelor's degree from the social pedagogy program (180 hp, University West from 2003). You preferably have experience in authority work and work with children and young people. It is an advantage if you have basic training in BBiC and experience with the case handling system LifeCare.

As a person, you take responsibility, are structured and flexible, and always have the child's best interests in focus. You thrive in collaboration with others, are happy to share knowledge and experiences, and can adapt your working methods when conditions change. At the same time, you work in a planned manner and create security for both yourself and those you meet.
