Svaneholm School is a primary school (grades F-6) with approximately 110 students. The school employs six teachers distributed across grades F-6, as well as three staff members responsible for the after-school center.

We run an active improvement work closely linked to teaching, which we are very proud of. We are now looking for you who want to work as a Senior Teacher and help lead your colleagues' professional learning.

In addition to teaching and other standard teacher duties, Senior Teachers perform special tasks, the scope of which is decided by the responsible principal. The prerequisites for the assignment are planned together with the principal in the Assignment Dialogue. The following examples should be seen as guidance for the assignment: your role may include, among other things,

• working with the school leadership to analyze, lead, implement, and follow up on quality development related to teaching.
• developing teaching at your own school or at other schools within the administration.
• leading, coordinating, and being responsible for school-wide development processes.
• keeping up with research and initiating pedagogical discussions.
• coordinating and acting as a discussion leader and supervisor in professional collegial learning.
• observing and supervising teaching situations.
• supervising other teachers in general didactic issues or questions related to specific subjects. Senior Teachers may also have a special assignment during the introduction of newly hired teachers.

You need to have teacher certification for teaching in grades 4-6. It is an advantage if you also have certification to teach in Social Studies (SO) and Natural Sciences (NO).

The Senior Teacher assignment is shaped in dialogue with the principal and followed up continuously. This means you need to be able to work flexibly based on the needs of the operation. Since improvement work is part of the school's complex mandate, there is no ready-made template to follow. Instead, we develop the work step-by-step, based on the needs and lessons learned during the process. As a starting point, we have the Operation Plan with clear goals, indicators, and expected effects.

As a small school, we collaborate closely with other schools in the Viskafors area, especially Kinnarummas School, but also Viskafors School. The purpose is to create an equal and cohesive schooling for the students in the area. The assignment therefore includes maintaining dialogue and close collaboration with the Senior Teacher at Kinnarummas School.

• has solid subject and subject-didactic knowledge
• can successfully adopt the learner's perspective and create good relationships with all students where positive expectations are a natural part
• has a good ability to spread teaching strategies as well as research and scientific theories to colleagues in collegial professional learning
• has shown commitment and solid interest in school development
• has a good ability to supervise colleagues and lead development processes both within the subject and school-wide
• has the ability to inspire and be a good ambassador for the profession
• masters teaching with modern technology
• has the ability, together with the school leadership, to analyze, lead, implement, and follow up on work related to quality development linked to teaching.
