Communication Coordinator for Stockholm Region Collaboration

Do you want to work with emergency preparedness and communication – and make a real difference? Do you want to contribute to societal benefit by helping create a safe, secure, and disruption-free Stockholm region? Do you have experience working with communication within the public sector – particularly crisis communication – and experience in coordination work during crises?

Then we would love to hear more about you and see if we are the right match!

What does the role involve?

As a Communication Coordinator at Stockholm Region Collaboration (SSR), you work to – in close collaboration with the actors – raise the collective ability to handle disruptions in the county. You do this, among other things, by coordinating joint development projects and developing routines and regional directions together with the actors. You will also contribute to various training and exercises in the area, as well as coordinate SSR's network of communicators and the network of communication managers.

You are also responsible for maintaining and developing the function of Regional Communication Coordinator in Preparedness (RKK), as well as ensuring effective communication regarding joint activities and projects. In an activated situation, the work may need to be reprioritized quickly, and you must be able to shift perspective from long-term development work to active management of an ongoing disruption, where you also contribute generally to coordination efforts.

The goal of your work is that communication efforts during societal disruptions occur in a coordinated manner, with clear senders and consistent or coordinated messages, and the method for this is based on meta-leadership.

You work in the coordination office for Stockholm Region Collaboration (SSR) with six colleagues led by a unit manager/coordination manager. Stockholm Region Collaboration is the common platform through which 37 actors in Stockholm collaborate to reduce the societal consequences of disruptions. More about the function can be found here: https://www.samverkanstockholmsregionen.se/ (https://www.samverkanstockholmsregionen.se/)

The County Administrative Board of Stockholm County is the home of the platform, and this is where you will have your employment.

Are you the one we are looking for?

For this role, we want you to have:

  • Relevant academic education or other training that we assess as appropriate.
  • Relevant, current, and multi-year experience of communication within the public sector.
  • Documented very good ability in written and oral communication.
  • Experience in coordination during crises and societal disruptions.

As a person, you are driven and have the ability to take initiative. Seeing the big picture comes naturally to you, and you have the ability to adapt when conditions change in the operations.

We place great emphasis on personal qualities and see it as a given that you contribute to good cooperation and work climate with both colleagues and various collaborating parties.

As an employee at the County Administrative Board, you need to:

  • Have the ability to make decisions from a holistic perspective, taking several viewpoints into account.
  • Understand that a central role for the County Administrative Board is to make trade-offs between different interests.
  • Have the ability to prioritize and adapt to work with new tasks or in new contexts.

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Experience working for one of the actors in Stockholm Region Collaboration.
  • Experience operating within the Stockholm Region Collaboration platform in regular and/or activated situations.
  • Experience working in a leading position.
  • Experience in leadership in some form, e.g., as a collaboration leader.
