HOME CARE SERVICES

We are looking for you who have a genuine interest in working with individuals who have memory disorders (dementia) and/or mental health issues. Our home care operations serve exclusively this target group, and our clients are not aggressive or dangerous.

The operation offers three different service arrangements for the summer.

Please specify in your application which service you are interested in, as well as how and how much you can work (which weeks).

Service with a fixed schedule:

Daytime: Rolling four-week schedule at 100% (including every other week as weekend work, 37/37 hours). You will have a fixed schedule to follow between approximately June and August. It is also possible to continue working in the operation after August.

Working hours: 07:30–16:30

Evening time: Rolling four-week schedule at 84.12%. You will have a fixed schedule to follow between approximately June and August. It is also possible to continue working in the operation after August. There are approximately 19 shifts per month.

Working hours: 15:00–22:00

Book individual shifts: If you are not available for work for the entire summer, you can book individual shifts. A requirement is that you are available for at least three shifts per week, as our clients need continuity. Depending on available shifts, you can work both days, evenings, weekdays, and weekends, depending on what works for you. It is also possible to start before June and continue working in the operation after August.

Salary: Based on the operation's collective agreement (Almega Healthcare Companies).

Introduction and supervision

You will receive a thorough introduction before you start working independently. There is always a team leader on-site during the day who can provide you with supervision and support. You also report continuously during your shift to the team leaders if anything deviates regarding the client or the schedule.

To work in the operation, you must:

  • Have an interest in working with people who have various dementia diseases or mental health issues.
  • Have very good Swedish skills in both speech and writing, as you will visit clients who may have difficulty understanding and speaking, and you must be able to document in journals and read instructions.
  • Be self-reliant, persistent, patient, stress-resistant, proactive, and creative in your approach. It is important that you are very social and find it easy to meet and communicate with people you do not know.
  • Be able to handle stress and plan and structure your work.
  • Have good local knowledge of inner-city Stockholm, as you travel to clients via public transport or on foot. If you are not familiar with Stockholm, you need to feel comfortable moving around in new areas.

Note that we place great emphasis on personal suitability, such as knowledge, interest, initiative, communication/attitude, and personality traits.

Job Responsibilities

You follow an intervention schedule and visit clients in their own homes to perform the interventions they are approved for according to the assistance decision. The decision includes, among other things, care of general hygiene and intimate hygiene, showering, cooking, social interaction, cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, accompanying to various facilities, and walks. We work extensively on motivating the client to be able to perform the interventions and use various work methods as aids.

We have team leaders and administrators staffing the office during the day, where you can turn for support in your daily work.

Who we are

Stockholm Dementia and Special Team is a home care company that performs interventions in the client's own home. The operation also provides escort services, respite care, and supported living.

We work with the time reporting system Paragå, where employees log in and out from each client visit using a mobile phone, NFC tags, and document directly on site in the client's journal. Paragå monitors logins via GPS.

Where we are located and how you get around to clients

We have clients in eight different districts. You start and end your shift from Södermalm, where we have our office. You travel to clients via public transport or on foot (the operation has no cars). A valid SL card is a requirement for this position.
