About the Role

In the acute pool, nursing assistants work across our three different medical wards within the Primary Healthcare Area North; MAVA/Cardiology ward, Kidney/Hematology ward, and Stroke/Rehabilitation ward. The work is varied as you will rotate between three wards with different focuses. As a nursing assistant in the acute pool, you are scheduled to cover absences at the respective units. There are 12 employees in the acute pool who all work across all units but have a home ward. If you are not scheduled for a specific day, you work at your home ward. The job involves performing standard nursing assistant duties as well as sitting vigil for patients. You work in a team with nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists.

Upon employment in the acute pool, you will undergo a 4-week orientation period before starting independent work. We offer a preference-based schedule with periods of approximately 12 weeks per cycle, giving you the opportunity to choose how you want to work to a certain extent. Working hours include days, evenings, and weekends. There is also an option to work night shifts. We are constantly working to improve and develop our operations, and patient safety, competence development, and working environment are issues we value highly.

We are now looking for four nursing assistants for the Acute Pool. One position is a permanent full-time employment. The other three are full-time fixed-term contracts until 2027-05-31. Start date is by agreement.

Responsibilities

Standard nursing assistant duties at our three wards, such as:

• Basic care
• Monitoring vital signs
• Blood sampling (venipuncture)
• Insertion of urinary catheters (KAD)
• Dressing changes

Qualifications

We are looking for you who:

• Are a trained nursing assistant
• Have good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing

It is an advantage if you:

• Have work experience from medical emergency care
• Have worked as a nursing assistant on several wards at Örnsköldsvik Hospital
