We are looking for a Construction Manager for an authority within the transport sector.

This is a consultancy assignment. The location is Stockholm.

The position is full-time.

The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, which places high demands on flexibility and teamwork.

The Assignment

The role involves strengthening the project's safety organization during the construction phase and supporting the construction management in monitoring and coordinating safety work within complex infrastructure contracts. You will be part of the project's BAS-U organization and be responsible for following up on the contractors' safety work, ensuring compliance with laws, requirements, and agreed working methods, as well as contributing to a safe working environment throughout the project's execution. The role involves close collaboration with project management, construction management, and contractors, with a strong focus on monitoring, documentation, and feedback of lessons learned.

Responsibilities

• Monitor that the project and contractors work according to agreed methods, client requirements, laws, and regulations
• Assist project managers and construction management with safety-related issues
• Record minutes and document safety-related meetings
• Review contractors' safety plans and ensure they meet safety requirements
• Monitor contractors' systematic work environment management, including ventilation and fire safety issues during construction
• Lead and record minutes for safety rounds and participate in contractors' own safety rounds if necessary
• Be responsible for feedback from accidents and incidents and work towards achieving the project's safety goals
• Conduct spot checks and ensure that contractors' self-inspections within the safety area are carried out according to established requirements.

Requirements (OBS, mandatory)

• Documented Bas-P and Bas-U training (minimum 16 hours).
• At least three (3) years of experience working with safety coordination or as a safety coordinator and/or Bas-U (handler and/or contact person) in infrastructure projects and/or construction projects in Sweden (minimum 100 million SEK in project cost).
• At least three (3) years of experience handling safety issues between clients and contractors in infrastructure and/or construction projects (minimum approx. 100 million SEK in project sum).
• Valid B driving license.
• Fluent Swedish in speech and writing.

Meritorious

• Experience from at least one (1) project (project duration at least one year) where English has been used in daily communication as a spoken language.
• Experience from at least one (1) project (project duration at least one year) with more than 3 subcontractors where the client has been responsible for and organized construction safety coordination.

• Has a holistic perspective and good understanding of dependencies and interfaces between different parts of the project
• Used to collaborating with construction, project, and design management to ensure progress and goal achievement
• Has the ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing
• Responsible and quality-conscious with a good understanding of contractual legal issues
• Good knowledge of safety issues and a strong focus on safety in project execution
