Do you want a central role in an organization that makes a difference for children and young people? BUP Stockholm is now recruiting a Senior Consultant (Specialist Physician) with the possibility of a part-time academic appointment (MLA) for our unit En väg in (One Way In), which handles the triage of all new incoming cases in the form of referrals and self-referrals to BUP Stockholm.
BUP En väg in is part of the Section for Neuropsychiatry. This section consists of six units for patients with neuropsychiatric issues and the unit En väg in (EVI).
The unit is staffed by experienced healthcare professionals who ensure via phone and digital channels that the patient and their relatives receive the right care at the right place at the right time. The unit receives all incoming referrals to BUP and assesses whether the patient needs specialized child psychiatric interventions.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Consultant at the unit, you are a key person in assessing incoming referrals and supporting staff members who handle digital health care requests via the 24/7 service and by phone. You will collaborate closely with the Unit Manager and the Deputy Unit Manager. Together with your colleagues, your task is to ensure high-quality triage in accordance with the mission of child psychiatry. In addition to your colleagues at your own unit, you have close access to collegial exchange with other specialist physicians within BUP Stockholm. On-call duties are included.
Qualifications
You must be a specialist in child and adolescent psychiatry. Work experience in the field is required, as well as experience working according to modern, evidence-based methods. You must have a very good ability to make independent assessments. Experience from child psychiatric outpatient care is also a requirement.

Employment type
The position is a permanent full-time employment with the possibility of part-time work. The work takes place during daytime, Monday–Friday. Start date by agreement.

About us
BUP Stockholm offers specialized psychiatric care for children and young people under 18 years of age within Stockholm County. We are part of the Stockholm County Council Healthcare Area (SLSO), which is a healthcare provider within Region Stockholm. Together, we at BUP Stockholm are approximately 1,200 employees who meet over 25,000 children, young people, and their families every year.
The position is filled subject to the condition that it does not need to be allocated for internal relocation, according to current regulations.
For patient-facing work within the Stockholm County Council Healthcare Area:
- A register check is applied before the decision on employment according to SLSO’s overarching guidelines for register checks upon employment.
- Employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment health examination, according to current directives, which is conducted through occupational health services before employment.
- Good knowledge of the Swedish language equivalent to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is required, in addition to a Swedish professional license. The same requirement is guiding for non-licensed personnel with patient contact.
