Job Responsibilities
As a Strategic Security and Preparedness Coordinator, you play a central role in the municipality's work regarding security, civil preparedness, and crisis management. You work both strategically and operationally to coordinate, develop, and support the municipality's efforts in this area.
The role involves close collaboration with the municipal executive board, various departments, and external actors. You serve as a support in matters concerning security, preparedness, governance, and analysis, and also contribute with qualified investigative work and prepare steering documents within the field.
In this role, you will among other things:
- Coordinate and develop the municipality's work within civil preparedness and total defense.
- Work with crisis preparedness, continuity planning, and security-related issues.
- Participate in and support the municipality's work during special events and crisis management.
- Develop, update, and follow up on steering documents, plans, and routines.
- Write decision support materials, analyses, and investigations for administrative leadership and political bodies.
- Coordinate risk and vulnerability analyses and contribute to development and improvement work.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external actors within the security and preparedness area.
- Provide support and guidance to departments in matters concerning security, preparedness, and essential societal functions.
- Contribute to the development of working methods, processes, and structures within the municipality's administration and leadership work.
- Monitor the external environment in areas such as civil preparedness, security, and total defense.
About the Workplace
The Municipal Executive Office's assignment is to lead, coordinate, and follow up on the municipality's activities. We ensure that the municipality functions efficiently and that residents receive the services they need, while simultaneously supporting elected officials and administrations.
You will become part of a smaller organization where collaboration, participation, and responsibility-taking are important parts of everyday life.
What we are looking for in you
To succeed in the role, you have:
Education
- Relevant higher education or university degree in areas such as societal security, crisis management, political science, public administration, law, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
Experience
- Experience in qualified coordination work within public operations or other relevant organizations.
- Experience working with security, preparedness, or development issues.
- Experience in creating decision support materials, investigations, or steering documents.
- Experience working both strategically and operationally.
- Experience collaborating with various actors and departments.
Skills
- Good knowledge of civil preparedness, crisis preparedness, and total defense.
- Good understanding of public administration and municipal decision-making processes.
- Ability to analyze complex information and translate it into clear materials and practical actions.
- Good administrative and structural skills.
- Good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish.
It is meritorious if you have:
Experiences
- Experience from municipal operations or other politically governed organizations.
- Experience working in a staff, crisis management, or special organization during incidents.
- Experience with security protection work, information security, or continuity work.
- Experience with project management, change management, or development work.
- Experience working with risk and vulnerability analyses.
Skills
- Knowledge of relevant legislation in the area, such as security protection, crisis preparedness, and public administration.
- Knowledge within information security and security protection.
- Knowledge of the structure and responsibility distribution of total defense.
- Knowledge within governance, process development, and operational development.
Personal qualities we are looking for
We are looking for someone who is responsible, structured, and analytical with a good holistic perspective. You have the ability to drive issues forward independently while thriving in collaboration with others.
You are confident in switching between strategic issues and operational efforts and have the ability to prioritize and create structure even in complex situations. The role requires you to be communicative and have an easy time building trusting relationships both internally and externally.

A Category B driver's license is a requirement for the position. The employer will also conduct a security clearance check of current applicants.
