At Östergården children's and youth residential home, we are looking for habilitation assistants who want to contribute to ensuring that children and young people with disabilities have a secure and developmental daily life. We are part of Bräcke Diakoni, an ideologically driven foundation working for a more humane society. We are now looking for employees for both day/evening shifts and night shifts who want to become part of our dedicated team.

Your Role

As a habilitation assistant at our units in Klippan and Eken, you will make a difference for children with neuropsychiatric disabilities. You are a present and secure adult who meets each child based on their needs, prerequisites, and way of communicating. With structure and predictability, you contribute to a daily life where they receive support and can develop at their own pace. The working hours are scheduled and may involve weekend work. Please specify in your application if you are interested in day/evening shifts, night shifts, or both options.

You will primarily:

• Provide support in important moments of daily life, such as meals, exercise, personal care, and leisure activities
• Strengthen the children's communication using Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and clear pedagogy
• Act as a contact person and collaborate with parents and networks
• Collaborate with support pedagogues, nurses, and habilitation teams
• Contribute to developing the operations together with colleagues.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for you who are secure, responsible, and sensitive to children's individual needs. You have an easy time building good relationships and can actively participate in adapting the children's daily life, regarding routines, communication, and support measures. You provide care with heart, but always with professional distance.

Qualifications:

• Education in care and nursing equivalent to assistant nurse or support assistant
• 1 year of experience in nursing work (personal care, meals, transfers, medication management)
• Experience working with individuals with autism/NPD (Neurodevelopmental Disorders)
• Knowledge of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), such as picture support or signs
• Experience with digital working methods for documentation and email management
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken, written, and reading comprehension.

Meritorious:

• Experience working with children and young people
• Experience working within residential care operations
