Imagine being part of creating a place where children and young people within the LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) can grow, feel safe, and be seen for who they are. To contribute from the very beginning to creating a safe, developmental, and meaningful daily life for a young person. Do you want to be part of this journey?
We are now looking for support assistants who want to shape a workplace together where great commitment, genuine interest, and innovative ideas can take place.
With us, you truly get the opportunity to be involved from the start and contribute to creating a safe, developmental, and meaningful daily life for a young person. We are looking for someone who is flexible, proactive, and thrives in an active daily life where no two days are alike.
Responsibilities
As a support assistant, your main task is to provide individually adapted pedagogical support that strengthens the individual's opportunities for an independent, meaningful, and developmental life. An important part of the assignment is also to contribute to a calm, safe, and predictable environment.
Communication is a central part of the work, and we use pedagogical methods such as clarifying pedagogy and low-affective handling to create understanding, structure, and security in daily life.
Working with low-affective handling means that you, as an employee, take responsibility for the situation, reflect on what has happened, and together with colleagues and the young person find sustainable solutions moving forward. We work with an approach characterized by respect, patience, and a strong focus on the individual's needs and conditions.
Inclusiveness is at the center of our work. We work to ensure that the young person receives the right support, can influence their daily life, and develops based on their own goals, interests, and abilities. This can involve support regarding leisure activities, social interaction, communication, or cognitive understanding – always with the individual in focus.
You will work a varied schedule with shifts during the day, evenings, weekends, and sleeping on-call duties.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a support assistant education, the Child and Youth Program with a focus on social work or pedagogical work, or the Care and Nursing Program with specialization within the program deepening functional impairment. Alternatively, other education that the employer deems equivalent, for example, a specialization within the disability area of at least 200 YH credits or higher education in relevant areas.
If you do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1, you may be offered to take a language test through the test provider Educateit.
It is a requirement that you, as an applicant, have at least two years of experience working with people with neuropsychiatric disabilities. You also need to have at least two years of experience working with LAB (low-affective handling), self-harm behavior, and aggressive behavior. We also look for you to have very good knowledge of social documentation, and you need to have a driver's license for category B (manual).
Since the position will involve a fair amount of physical activity, good physical fitness is an advantage.
As a person, you are stable and feel confident handling the situations you face at work. You take responsibility for the operation, both for the young person living in the residence and for all tasks that need to be done around it. At the same time, you are sensitive to the individual's needs and adapt your working method to the situation. You contribute to good cooperation with your colleagues and have a professional and respectful approach to everyone you meet in your work.
Other
Instead of sending a cover letter, you will answer a number of questions where you get to describe your knowledge in the area. Selection and interviews take place continuously during the application period.
