Our operations are growing! Are you a specialist physician in child and adolescent psychiatry or general psychiatry with a special interest in the neuropsychiatric field? Do you want to work in a well-functioning and pleasant unit where we aim to improve and develop care for children and young people with neuropsychiatric disabilities?
BUP Stockholm Section for Neuropsychiatry is now looking for a specialist physician in child and adolescent psychiatry or general psychiatry for a unit at Brommaplan.
The clinic's mission is to conduct assessments of neuropsychiatric disabilities. We also provide pharmacological treatment for ADHD. Here, psychologists, medical secretaries, doctors, nurses, and the unit manager work together. In addition to wanting to do the job as well as possible and increase accessibility to care for our target group, we work to build a well-functioning workplace where we thrive and have the opportunity to develop the operations together.
Responsibilities
As a specialist physician, your main responsibilities are to conduct neuropsychiatric assessments of children and young people together with a psychologist, according to national guidelines and BUP Stockholm's process maps. You will also work with medication treatment for ADHD. You initiate medication and follow up on its effects in a team with a nurse. You may be involved in introducing and supervising junior doctors and residents, providing support to them as well as other colleagues at the clinic. As a specialist physician within BUP Stockholm, you will also be part of the on-call line as needed.
You are part of a team and have the opportunity to contribute to continuous development by participating in the unit's ongoing development work.
Opportunities for remote work with administrative tasks/distance contacts if operations allow, corresponding to approximately one day per week.
Qualifications
You must be a specialist physician in child and adolescent psychiatry or general psychiatry and have clinical work experience in the field. You are accustomed to working according to new research and evidence-based methods. A special interest in the neuropsychiatric field is preferred.

BUP Neuropsychiatry West 1 is part of BUP Stockholm. BUP Stockholm offers specialized psychiatric care for children and young people aged 0 to 17 in Stockholm County. We are part of the Stockholm County Healthcare Services (SLSO), which is a healthcare provider within Region Stockholm. Together, we are approximately 1,200 employees who meet over 22,000 children, young people, and their families every year.
The position is filled subject to it not being needed for internal reassignment, according to current regulations.
In patient-facing roles within Stockholm County Healthcare Services (SLSO):
- A background check is conducted before the decision on employment, according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for background checks upon employment.
- Employees who will have patient contact must undergo a new hire medical examination, according to current directives, which is done through the occupational health service before employment.
- Good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is required, in addition to Swedish professional licensure. The same requirements apply to non-licensed personnel with patient contact.
