Quantum computers are moving from research to reality – and the hardware behind them is becoming crucial. At SCALINQ, we develop cryogenic systems at the forefront of what materials, precision, and physics allow. We are now looking for a Quality Inspector who wants to ensure that every component meets the quality required for the technology to work in practice. Do you want to enable the next generation of computing technology? Read on.
The Role
As a Quality Inspector at SCALINQ, you play a central role in ensuring the quality of both incoming materials and finished products, with a particular focus on incoming inspection.
This is an operational role with a significant amount of practical work in production, combined with analysis, documentation, and continuous improvement. You will become part of a close collaboration with production and engineers in a tightly knit team.
You are responsible for quality control from start to finish and actively contribute to identifying, analyzing, and correcting deviations. The role requires flexibility and a willingness to support where needed in a small and dynamic organization.
Responsibilities
- Perform quality inspections of incoming materials and finished products
- Conduct inspections – from visual checks to measurements using mechanical and electrical instruments
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Document results in test and inspection reports
- Handle deviations and contribute to root cause analyses
- Drive improvements in processes and work instructions
- Collaborate with production, development, purchasing, and sales
What We Offer
At SCALINQ, you work with technology that enables a fundamental shift in how computers are built. We work fast, value initiative, and give significant autonomy – where ideas can go from concept to market product within months.
In this role, you work hands-on with high-precision hardware, advanced materials, and complex systems, using modern measurement methods and tools in close collaboration with production, development, and suppliers. You play a key role in ensuring quality throughout the entire product lifecycle – from incoming components to the finished product. This is a trust-based environment with high expectations, continuous technical challenges, and good opportunities for development. Here, impact matters more than title.
About You
You have a post-secondary technical education in mechanics, electronics, or similar, or equivalent experience from a manufacturing environment. You have experience in quality control, inspection, or quality assurance, preferably in environments with technically advanced or high-precision products. You are accustomed to working practically with measuring equipment, reading technical drawings, and following structured processes. At the same time, you document your work clearly and systematically.
As a person, you are meticulous, analytical, and solution-oriented. You take responsibility and do not let go of problems until they are fully understood and resolved. You are not satisfied with just reporting deviations – you drive them forward. You thrive close to production but also have the ability to see the big picture and contribute to improvements. You collaborate well with others, build trust, and communicate clearly – both internally and in documentation.
About SCALINQ
At SCALINQ, the team is at the center. By combining expertise in quantum technology, microwave technology, and hardware design, we develop high-performance solutions that enable the scaling of quantum computers.
With strong ties to Chalmers University of Technology, we combine global research competence with Gothenburg’s practical and collaborative engineering culture. Innovation happens in close interaction between research and development, focusing on transforming complex ideas into robust and usable hardware.
Requirements
- Post-secondary technical education in mechanics, electronics, or similar
- A few years of practical experience in quality control, inspection, or quality assurance
- Experience with measuring equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, multimeters)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Experience writing test or inspection reports
- Good knowledge of English, both spoken and written
Merits
- Experience working with high-precision or sensitive products
- Experience developing or improving work instructions and processes
- Experience with deviation management and simple root cause analyses (e.g., 5 Whys)
We look forward to your application! Selection is ongoing, and the position may be filled before the application deadline!
