Do you want to make a difference – for real?
At the Employment Unit in Vaggeryd Municipality, the job is about more than numbers and plans – it is about people. We believe in every individual's inherent power to change and grow. We are now looking for you who want to help create opportunities for people to take the step towards self-sufficiency and an independent life.
As an Employment Officer, you are a key person in this journey. You meet people in complex life situations and help them find their way forward. You are not just an administrator – you are a coach, a coordinator, and an inspirer. With us, you make a difference every day!
About the position
As an Employment Officer, you work with supporting individuals towards employment or studies. You coordinate efforts, draw up individual implementation plans, and follow up on these together with the individual. The role involves close collaboration with internal and external actors such as the Swedish Public Employment Service (Arbetsförmedlingen), healthcare, and business. You will become part of a competent team consisting of social workers, occupational therapists, supervisors, public health scientists, SE-coaches, and project managers.
Over the next two years, we are running the ESF project "Together – consolidated support for sustainable livelihood" in collaboration with Gnosjö Municipality. The project targets long-term unemployed individuals with complex problems and aims to strengthen their prerequisites for work or education. Together with your colleagues, you will work with both project participants and the development of new working methods.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate employment and rehabilitation efforts at the individual level.
- Draw up and follow up on individual implementation plans.
- Motivate individuals towards work or studies based on their prerequisites.
- Plan and implement efforts for individuals and groups.
- Collaborate with internal and external actors.
- Actively participate in the development of methods and routines.
Qualifications
- Social worker, occupational therapist, or other relevant university education.
- Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
- A B-driver's license is required.
Merits
- Knowledge of Motivational Interviewing (MI), Empowerment, ADHD/Autism (NPF), Basic Income Pilot (BIP), and Supported Employment.
- Experience working within municipal employment activities, social treatment work, or the Swedish Public Employment Service.
- Knowledge of the regulations of the Swedish Public Employment Service and the Swedish Social Insurance Agency.
Personal qualities
We are looking for you who have a solution-focused and relationship-oriented approach. You are secure, receptive, and have the ability to motivate people. To succeed in the role, you need to be flexible, structured, and accustomed to working independently. You are used to planning and organizing your own work and driving your individual cases forward. As an officer, you need to have a good ability to build relationships, listen, and motivate change. You are computer literate, as the position requires documentation and handling of our digital business systems. You have good collaboration skills and thrive working in a team.
About the workplace
The Employment Unit is organized under the Municipal Executive Board and has the task of driving and coordinating employment issues, social assistance, and integration. Our mission is to support people who lack a firm foothold on the labor market towards self-sufficiency and work, and we work with the individual at the center. The Employment Unit promotes inclusion in society regardless of gender, ethnicity, age, and social background.
The operations are located centrally in Vaggeryd town with very good commuting opportunities, and we also share premises with the Swedish Public Employment Service.
The municipality's value basis "Thought and care, ideas become reality and everyone matters" is clear within the operations. We make room to make a difference, and it shows in the execution of our mission!
