On the outskirts of Lidköping lies Sjölunda School, a brand-new school offering places for 350 students in grades F-6.

Job Description

Your main task is to challenge students in their learning and support their knowledge development towards set goals, together with colleagues in the work team. In addition to planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching, you will work with colleagues in the work team to develop the school based on prioritized development areas and the unit's improvement work.

Who are you?

You are a certified teacher with qualifications to teach grades 4-6 in Swedish and Social Studies (SO). Broader subject qualifications are welcome. Your ability to create good, trust-based relationships with students and guardians is a prerequisite.

We are looking for someone who is well-versed in the purpose, skills, and knowledge requirements of the subjects and is well-versed in the school's view of knowledge and its value-based mission. You have good knowledge and competence in digital and formative learning processes.

You have the ability to motivate and create situations that contribute to meaningful learning and learning environments characterized by inclusion, variation, and interactivity. You have the ability to see and meet each student individually, base your work on what works, and provide broad leadership and stimulation in teaching.

You see opportunities in cross-curricular work in collaboration with others. Your learning in collegial learning is second nature to you. You reflect on and analyze your own teaching as a natural part of your practice. You have a great commitment in the classroom and take great responsibility in your work. You are interested in developing teaching to become more meaningful, understandable, and manageable so that we achieve the effect of students becoming more curious and wanting to learn more.

You have a very good ability to create good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You are communicative and creative. We would like you to be able, willing, and brave to think and try new things together with others.

Before employment, we will request that you present an extract from the criminal record (Chapter 2, Section 31 of the Education Act). The extract is requested via the Criminal Record Office - request extract | Police Authority (polisen.se). It usually takes between 1-2 weeks to receive it by mail.

Criminal Record Extract

Before offering employment, you as a candidate are obliged to present an extract from the criminal record for work in any of the following areas; school or preschool, work with children in other activities than school and childcare, work with children according to LSS (Act of Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), work at or in connection with HVB homes (Hem för vård eller boende), work with the elderly or persons with disabilities. You order the extract via the Police website. The extract must be presented before employment can begin.
