Are you passionate about motivational work and strengthening people in their daily lives?
Then you might be the support pedagogue we are looking for at our service housing facility, Kryddhyllan 22, in Gårdsten!
About the position
In May 2025, we launched Kryddhyllan, a new service housing facility in Gårdsten with eight apartments. We are now looking for a support pedagogue who is driven by varied work and wants to help build this operation at an early stage! The focus of the operation is social psychiatry and comorbidity. The facility is staffed 24/7. You will be part of a work group consisting of nine support assistants and one support pedagogue.
Together with your work team, you will design interventions and implementation plans based on each individual's own needs and wishes. For this target group, experience in working extensively with motivational work and actively engaging in preventive measures is required. To succeed in your role, you must value and be skilled at creating good collaboration with other professions and with each individual's social network.
As a support pedagogue, you have overall responsibility for the pedagogical work within the operation. You will establish, implement, and evaluate working methods and approaches, ensuring they are used and developed effectively. You will lead team and operational meetings for the work group to work systematically regarding each user. You will also mentor colleagues regarding professional ethical dilemmas and pedagogical approaches. Your nearest support pedagogue colleague works in the building next door, and you will have close collaboration. You will also participate in a pedagogical network with other colleagues in the area, led by our method developers.
Together with the work group, you will draw up, carry out, and follow up on routines, action plans, and support descriptions. You ensure that social documentation and implementation plans are drawn up according to IBIC, further developed, and monitored based on laws and guidelines.
Your working hours will be scheduled for days, evenings, and every other weekend at the facility. In addition to the pedagogical work, you will work directly with users. We offer you a varied and stimulating position with significant personal responsibility.
Qualifications
For the position of support pedagogue, post-secondary specialization in the disability field is required, comprising at least 200 YH credits, 120 university credits, or a combination thereof equivalent to at least four terms of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 university credits and at least two years of experience working with support and services for people with disabilities are required. The education should have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) nursing, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
We are looking for you who have experience working with the target group of social psychiatry. You should also have knowledge of meeting challenging behavior and using low-affective handling (LAB) as an approach.
It is meritorious if you have documented knowledge of motivational interviewing (MI), SIP (Coordinated Individual Plan), Independent Living (ESL), consent, coercion, and restrictions, as well as experience meeting individuals with substance abuse/risky use.
Communication is a central part of the work, requiring you to master the Swedish language both orally and in writing. This implies a passing grade in Swedish 1, Swedish as a Second Language 1, or equivalent. If you do not meet the qualification requirements, you may be offered to take a language test via the test provider EducateIt.
As a person, you are pleasant and helpful towards others, even in stressful situations. You show respect for everyone you meet at work. You convey information and ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing, and adapt your communication to the recipient, target group, and situation. You create participation and engagement.
