The Workplace

As one of our employees takes their next step forward, the opportunity now arises to welcome a new colleague to the finance unit in Karlsborg Municipality. You will work centrally as a Controller within the finance unit, contributing to joint efforts within a broad area of responsibility, where we together drive and develop the unit's mission.

Your Responsibilities

The position is located at the municipal office and reports directly to the Finance Manager. The work involves close collaboration with the Social Services Director and other managers within the Social Services Department. Your main tasks will include:

• Working with the budget process and monitoring the current year's budget.
• Providing cross-administrative support to department managers.
• Coordinating the department's work with state grants and statistics.
• Working with business planning, business development, and follow-up in your role as a Controller.
• Under the direction of the Finance Manager, develop and be responsible for financial planning, forecasts, business plans, budgets, and annual accounts.
• Prepare decision-making materials and present to political bodies.
• Work as a business-oriented user specialist for a module in the financial system (Unit4) and participate in the Ö9 module group, which is a collaboration with 9 other municipalities in eastern Skaraborg.
• Handle other common tasks within the finance unit.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who have a university education with a focus on economics and/or experience of similar work that the employer deems sufficient. Knowledge of the laws governing the operations is an advantage. You should also have good IT skills, the ability to work independently, structured, and organized, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills. You are a driven, analytical, and responsible person with the ability to build good relationships. Personal suitability is highly valued.
