Do you want to be part of the student health services work in the Primary School Administration and work in an environment with high competence, quality, and friendly colleagues? Then you are welcome to apply for the position of school nurse in the Lövgärde school area, which includes Lövgärdesskolan, Rävebergsskolan, and Tretjärnsskolan.

We are located in the center of Lövgärde, close to the nature area Vättlefjäll, which invites to outdoor activities and offers opportunities to use nature in teaching. Together with Tretjärnsskolan F–3, the adapted primary school, and Rävebergsskolan F-3, we form school area 15 in the Northeast. The schools are led by a principal and 4 deputy principals.

Approximately 350 students from grade 4 to grade 9 attend the school. There is also a special education group at the school.

Your placement is at Lövgärdesskolan, but you will collaborate closely with other school nurses in the area. You will also collaborate closely with other professions within the student health services and other colleagues.

Responsibilities

As a school nurse, you work according to the basic program for health visits, health checks, and vaccinations according to the City of Gothenburg's method support for school nurses and school doctors. The health visits are a continuation of the child health center's health visits and form the basis for EMI's operations. As a school nurse, you have the opportunity to make a difference at the individual, group, and organizational levels.

In your role as a school nurse, you collaborate closely with the student health services' professions as you participate in the school's student health team. You also collaborate with the school's staff and management to create the best possible conditions for the student's health, development, and learning based on your nursing competence. As a school nurse, you also collaborate with educators, guardians, and authorities outside the school.

You have access to regular external supervision, further education, organized professional networks, support from the medically responsible person, and a mentor.

As a school nurse, you primarily work with health promotion and prevention. In collaboration with the school management and other school staff, the student health services constitute an important support process to promote students' learning, development, and health.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a registered nurse and have completed further education as a school nurse, or have a specialist education in health and medical care for children and youth, or district nurse education with a great interest in working with children and young people. Previous experience as a school nurse or experience in health-promoting work with children and young people is desirable, but not a requirement.

To succeed in your role, it is important that you are flexible, communicative, and have the ability to build good trusting relationships with students, guardians, and educators. You are secure, responsible, and have an easy time collaborating. As a school nurse with us, you have an independent role and need a good ability to plan and organize your work well. Since you will be active in health-promoting work, you are good at communicating, motivating, and inspiring.

Good computer skills are required as you will work in various IT systems. All documentation for school nurses and school doctors, as well as the student health services, takes place in our digital journal system, PMO.
