Statens institutionsstyrelse (SiS) is a government agency responsible for providing individually tailored involuntary care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse problems. SiS Youth Home Brättegården is located just outside Vänersborg. We receive non-compulsory school-age girls with psychosocial problems, mental health issues, as well as criminality and substance abuse.

Job Description

Do you want to make a difference for vulnerable young people? Are you passionate about treatment and engaging people in the work around it? Then the position of Treatment Secretary at SiS Youth Home Brättegården is a meaningful job for you.

Each department has a unit manager, a group leader, and a treatment secretary; these three positions together form the department team. Your role as a treatment secretary is organizationally placed under the quality manager, and your task is to coordinate and plan the care and treatment for the young people living on the department. You have close cooperation with the group leader, who in turn plans, coordinates, and operationally leads the daily work on the department, as well as supporting the department's staff in their work with the young people based on the treatment plan you create in your role.

You are engaged by involving and making the young person a part of every step of the treatment process. You are responsible for evaluating treatment interventions together with the young people and anchoring all processes with both the unit manager, group leader, and staff on the department. You plan and lead treatment collegiums and then guide the treatment collective towards established goals in daily work. You handle coordination meetings with external parties and also coordinate work regarding needs assessments and investigations.

The work is varied and requires flexibility and responsibility. This means that to a large extent, you are a structural supporter, meticulous, and organized. You understand the value and context of cooperation; it is natural for you to guide and support your colleagues. You are the initiator who anchors and implements decisions.

Additionally, the position is flexible in that you work independently to the extent you wish, while being given the opportunity for regular meetings with other colleagues in the same position where you exchange experiences, ensure quality of interventions, and stay updated on new guidelines and aligned work. Around you, you have a number of different positions with long-term and broad competence, which facilitates your work and enriches your daily life.

Qualifications

We are looking for a person with a genuine interest in youth care and who has the desire to participate in the development of the operations and methods used. As a person, you need to be listening and affirming in your approach to young people, capable of building alliances and creating cooperation even with young people with challenging behaviors, and making young people feel trust and confidence in you.

You must also have:

• Relevant higher education such as a social worker degree or other behavioral science education that SiS considers equivalent and comprises at least 180 credits.
• Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both written and oral.
• A valid driver's license (Category B), as the work sometimes involves travel outside the institution.

We consider it meritorious if you have experience of care and treatment work within social services, psychiatry, or the prison and probation service. Great importance will be attached to personal qualities and suitability.

Employment:

The position is a permanent full-time employment and begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date by agreement. Selection and interviews take place continuously during the recruitment process.
