As a childcare assistant, you help create a safe and fun environment where children can develop, play, and learn. You work closely with and support preschool teachers and childcare workers in driving the pedagogical work at the preschool – always with the children's best interests in focus.

The position is needs-based, which means you step in when regular staff is absent, sometimes with same-day notice. You schedule your availability yourself via the booking system Medvind.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who:

• Has completed upper secondary education
• Has experience working with children
• Is curious, flexible, and skilled at collaborating
• Can take initiative but is also receptive and adaptable to the work at the preschool
• Can step in with short notice when needed
• Has a driver's license and access to a car – you need to be able to travel to different preschools in the municipality
• It is an advantage if you have some form of healthcare education or training/experience in diabetes care
• Can communicate well in Swedish

The most important thing is that you have the right attitude and value respectful and warm treatment of both children and adults. Your contribution as a substitute is important at our preschools!

The employment is a needs-based position with an hourly wage.

Since you will be working with children and young people, you must provide a certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record) before employment. You apply for this digitally on the police website.

About us

The Child and Education Department is responsible for the municipality's preschools, primary schools, upper secondary schools, special needs schools, and cultural schools. We work together for a learning environment where children, students, and employees succeed and reach their best. The department's task is to coordinate, plan, and support the various operations and work for coordination between school and working life.

The staffing unit within the Child and Education Department consists of a unit manager, administrators, childcare workers, preschool teachers, and childcare assistants. We staff the preschools as needed for both short-term and long-term substitutes when regular staff is absent or if a temporary need arises.
