The Social Services Department provides support to the residents of Botkyrka and is responsible for authority exercises, primarily in accordance with the Social Services Act. The support is provided for both individuals and their relatives. The Social Services Department has a special responsibility for children, young people, and adults in need of support according to social legislation. We are approximately 500 employees who, using strength-based approaches, provide support to the residents of Botkyrka in an equal, fair, and secure manner.

The Position and Responsibilities

We are looking for two preschool teachers for an initiative where you will work both within the activity and in a broader assignment to strengthen families through early and preventive measures.

You will work in an open educational activity where you meet children and guardians in their daily lives. The role involves a preventive and relationship-building assignment where you work closely with families and collaborate with actors such as social services, the region, child health centers, midwife clinics, libraries, and civil society. Through your work, you contribute to strengthening parenthood, promoting children's development, and early identification of support needs to create good upbringing conditions for children and families.

Your main responsibilities:

• Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating meeting place for guardians and their children by building trusting relationships.
• Strengthen interaction, attachment, and relationships between guardians and children.
• Work with parenting support both individually and in groups by leading group activities and other support measures.
• Work preventively by early identification of needs and, if necessary, guiding families to the right support measures and actors.
• Conduct and develop the educational activity with a focus on children's language development, integration, and social inclusion.
• Work proactively to reach more families and increase accessibility to the activity.

Botkyrka Municipality currently has four open preschools and is now preparing to open a fifth in Alby. This means you will have the opportunity to be part of starting a new activity while being part of an established context with colleagues who have long experience and solid competence.

Work during evening hours may occur depending on the needs of the activity.

You will become part of the prevention unit for children aged 0–6, where several professions work together to provide preventive and parenting support at an early stage. Within the open preschool, you collaborate with colleagues with different competencies and are part of a cross-professional context where collaboration is a natural part of the work.

You who apply to us

You are a licensed preschool teacher or have another academic degree in pedagogy. You have experience in preventive and proactive work with guardians and children aged 0–6.

Other requirements:

• Documented experience in parenting support work, for example, within open preschools, family centers, or similar activities.
• Experience with parenting support programs such as ABC (All Children in the Center), Komet, Trygghetscirkeln, Parenting in Sweden, or similar methods.
• Experience in planning and leading activities or group activities for children and guardians that strengthen attachment, relationships, and interaction, such as baby massage.
• Experience collaborating with different actors, such as social services, municipal activities, the region, or civil society.

Merits:

• Experience in starting up or developing activities, such as open preschools or similar activities.
• Experience working in socio-economically vulnerable areas and/or proactive work to reach families in need of support.
• Experience with language-developing approaches, integration, or inclusive work with families from different backgrounds.
• Knowledge of domestic violence and honor-related violence and oppression.

As a preschool teacher in this role, you are structured and confident in your professional role. You plan, organize, and drive the work forward in an activity that is under construction, while being able to prioritize and adapt your approach based on the needs of the activity and families.

You are collaborative and relationship-building in your meetings with children, guardians, and partners. Through a trusting approach, you build relationships with families and collaborate with different actors to create coordinated support around children and guardians.
