We are now looking for a support pedagogue for the service housing at Pimpinellagatan in northeastern Gothenburg!
About the position
Pimpinellagatan is a BmSS (Housing with Special Support) located in Angered. We have eight tenants living in their own apartments in a two-story building. At Pimpinellagatan, the support needs vary and may include, for example, ADHD, autism, and autism spectrum disorders in combination with other difficulties such as self-harm behavior, substance abuse/risky use, personality disorders, and learning difficulties. We work to support our tenants in their daily lives based on their individual needs and wishes.
As a support pedagogue, you have overall responsibility for the pedagogical work within the operation. You will work with working methods and approaches and ensure that these are used and developed in an effective manner. You will also mentor colleagues regarding professional ethical dilemmas and pedagogical approaches.
Together with the work group, you establish, implement, and follow up on routines, action plans, and support descriptions. You ensure that social documentation and implementation plans are created, further developed, and followed in accordance with laws and guidelines.
As a support pedagogue, you are a knowledge resource in the work team. You act as support and guidance for each individual employee, the work group, and also provide support to the unit manager. Together with your colleagues, you play a central role in the quality development of the operation and systematic improvement work.
You will be part of a network with other pedagogues and collaborate with relatives, guardians, and other key persons to ensure the tenant receives good care, support, and service.
Your working hours will be scheduled within the operation, and it will also include performing care interventions and tasks based on self-care and delegation, such as medical, rehabilitative, and habilitative interventions.
We offer you a varied and stimulating position with significant personal responsibility. The work is scheduled during day and evening hours, as well as every other weekend.
Qualifications
For the position of support pedagogue, post-secondary specialization within the disability field is required, comprising at least 200 YH credits, 120 university credits, or 60 university credits with two years of work experience with persons with disabilities. The education should have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education that the employer deems equivalent.
You must have good ability to express yourself in speech and writing, as you independently create documentation according to IBIC (Individual's Needs at the Center) and other social documentation. Therefore, passing grades in Swedish 1, Swedish as a Second Language 1, or equivalent are required. If you lack this, you may be offered to take a language test via Educateit.
We are looking for you who have experience as a support pedagogue and experience working with the target group of neuropsychiatric, intellectual functional variations, and mental illness. Documented knowledge of Motivational Interviewing (MI) and an Independent Life (ESL) is meritorious. It is also meritorious if you have experience with SIP (Coordinated Individual Plan) as well as consent, coercion, and restrictions.
As a person, you are communicative and adapt your communication to the recipient and situation. You have a pedagogical approach, create understanding, and promote participation. You treat others with respect, contribute to a safe atmosphere, and have the user's needs in focus. You collaborate well, work towards common goals, and contribute to a good working climate. You are stable, keep your cool under pressure, and make thoughtful decisions.
We warmly welcome your application!
