Do you want to make a difference in people's daily lives and contribute to increased independence, participation, and quality of life? We are now looking for six dedicated support assistants for three operations in Kortedala!
About the operations
Our operations offer support, service, and care to adults with psychiatric disabilities. Julianska group home consists of six apartments, Tideräkning service housing has 12 apartments, and Decennium service housing has eight apartments.
Here, we work to create safety, independence, and quality of life with the individual at the center. The goal is to provide each person with support based on their needs and prerequisites. In some cases, substance abuse issues and co-morbidity may also occur.
We place great emphasis on good treatment, participation, collaboration, and a positive work climate. Care is a natural part of the daily work in all operations.
The positions belong to the same operational area and will be scheduled jointly based on the needs of the operations.
Job Responsibilities
As a support assistant, you work to provide individualized support based on each person's needs, wishes, and prerequisites. You actively participate in varied tasks that involve both pedagogical and practical support in everyday life. You are responsible for providing support, service, and care based on the individual's needs, integrity, and self-determination.
In this role, you have many contact points and collaborate with relatives, guardians, social services, and healthcare contacts. You become part of a dedicated team together with support assistants, support pedagogues, and unit managers, where collaboration, development, and professional treatment are natural parts of everyday life.
The position is located in one of the operations, but the work is scheduled jointly within the operational area.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a degree from the Care and Nursing program, the Support Assistant program, or the Child and Leisure program with a focus on social and pedagogical work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a specialization within the disability field comprising at least 200 YH credits, 120 university credits, or 60 university credits with two years of work experience with people with disabilities. The courses should be within behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education that the employer deems equivalent.
Communication is an important part of the work, which means you need to have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. If you do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1, Swedish as a Second Language 1, or equivalent, you may be offered to take a language test via the test provider Educateit.
The position requires that you have experience working with the target group of people with psychiatric disabilities. Experience working with mental illness, harmful use, and co-morbidity is meritorious.
Good computer skills are a requirement. We work in Treserva, Time Care, and Personec, and it is seen as positive if you have experience working in any of the above.
We would like you to have knowledge of and experience with several of the following methods: LAB (Low-Affect Handling), AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), Clarifying Pedagogy, IBIC (Individual Needs in Focus), ESL (An Independent Life), and MI (Motivational Interviewing).
We are looking for you who are pleasant, helpful, and respectful, even in stressful situations. You are flexible, secure under pressure, and see opportunities in change. You have a good understanding of individuals' different prerequisites and adapt your communication to the recipient to create participation and engagement.
We look forward to reading your application!
