Your role
In the role of Family Therapist in the School Social Team (SST), you work with family-therapeutic interventions for children and young people with problematic school absenteeism, including students who are homebound. The assignment is part of a collaboration model between social services and schools, where you, together with a psychologist and a special educator, work to create conditions for a functioning school attendance.
An important part of your work as a Family Therapist is to conduct in-depth mapping of the student's and family's situation to identify obstacles to school attendance. Based on the mapping, you work systematically and knowledge-based together with the family to remove obstacles and create sustainable changes. You work closely with the family, and it is the family's needs that determine how the work is planned and carried out, which means that interventions can take place in different environments and at times that suit the family. You work independently in your family-therapeutic role, while having close and continuous collaboration with other professions in the team as well as with the school.
Together with a psychologist and a special educator, you support the student, guardian, and school in a joint effort towards the goal of the student achieving a functioning school attendance. The interventions aim to increase school attendance, increase goal fulfillment, and strengthen well-being for both the student and the family.
Your competence and experience
We are looking for you who have:
- a degree in Social Work (Social Worker)
- at least two years of current experience working in authority matters with children and young people and/or experience in family-therapeutic work
- good proficiency in spoken and written Swedish
We consider the following to be meritorious:
- knowledge of and experience working with children and young people with problematic school absenteeism
- basic psychotherapy education or other further education that the employer considers equivalent, for example, systems-theoretical or CBT-oriented
- current and documented good ability to collaborate with other professions and authorities regarding the target group
- knowledge of and experience working with children and young people with neuropsychiatric disabilities
We are looking for you who are secure, stable, and have good self-awareness. You take responsibility and drive the work forward independently, both structured and goal-oriented. The role requires that you have good collaboration skills, the ability to establish contacts and maintain relationships. A clear child's perspective characterizes and permeates your work. You place great importance on involving children, young people, parents, and networks in the treatment. You are flexible in your working method and can adapt interventions based on the family's and the organization's needs. You adapt quickly when conditions change, while maintaining focus on the assignment's goals and quality.
