The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is an integrated department with both the University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology as main owners. Education is conducted at the department within a broad spectrum of areas.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is looking for teaching assistants for the autumn term 2026 to work with courses in the study areas Computer and Network Systems, Computing Science, Data Science and AI, Interaction Design, and Software Engineering.

Job Description

As a teaching assistant, you will actively work to relieve and support course coordinators with practical tasks related to each course. This could, for example, involve laboratory and exercise supervision. You will have ongoing contact with the relevant teachers regarding which tasks you can assist with. In the document, you will find more information about each course, such as the language of instruction and which campus the course will be held at. The courses are divided by department in the following order: Computer and Network Systems, Computing Science, Data Science and AI, Interaction Design, and Software Engineering.

Qualifications

To qualify for the position, you must be an active student at the University of Gothenburg or Chalmers University of Technology, preferably on one of the department's programs at the undergraduate or advanced level.

To qualify for the position in a specific course, you must have previously passed the course or a similar course.

To qualify for the position, you must have good knowledge of the course language, i.e., Swedish or English, both in speech and writing.

To be able to fulfill the role of teaching assistant, you need to be located in Gothenburg, Sweden, and have the opportunity to perform work tasks on-site at Johanneberg campus or Lindholmen campus.

Completed advanced courses for the relevant course are meritorious. Experience of teaching situations and being accustomed to instructing and helping people in a pedagogical manner are also meritorious for the position.

We will make a holistic assessment where great importance will be placed on personal suitability.

Employment

Employment type: Fixed-term employment, autumn term 2026

Scope: 10%-20% of full-time

Location: Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Gothenburg

Start date: 2026-08-24 or as agreed
