Do you want to make a difference for the health, learning, and development of children and students?
Here, you will have the opportunity to contribute to an important mission where we together create the best possible conditions for all children and students. Ale is currently making a special investment in student health services and is therefore recruiting school nurses, counselors, and psychologists. Welcome to join us!
About the Workplace
Following a recently adjusted organization, Ale has a consolidated student health service where psychologists, school nurses, and school social teams are led by a Head of Student Health. Together with the other student health professions at the schools, we form an interdisciplinary group whose primary mission is health promotion and prevention for the municipality's students. The group consists of just over 20 employees and is an important resource in development issues and for coordinating various assignments. We are looking for you who want to make a difference and support students' development towards educational goals.
Student health staff meet a couple of times each month for joint meetings, both in full group and by profession. These occasions are appreciated for the opportunity for community and reflection, as well as for working together on development and quality work. We are a group with a broad age and experience range who enjoy each other's company!
At the central student health service in Ale, there are currently five psychologist positions, as well as a psychologist focused on Skolfam. The psychologists have several years of experience from schools and related operations, and one of our psychologists has a role as coordinator and PLA as part of their position. In Ale, the school psychologist role is well-established and appreciated. School psychologists work with preschools, primary schools, special primary schools, and upper secondary schools.
Responsibilities
We are now looking for an engaged psychologist for a broad and varied assignment within preschools, primary schools, and upper secondary schools. Here, you will have the opportunity to work close to the operations and contribute to creating the best conditions for the development, health, and learning of children and students. We are looking for you who want to be an active and important part of the health-promoting and preventive work.
In this role, you will contribute your psychological competence to create increased understanding of the preschools' and schools' assignments and responsibilities towards students, guardians, and external actors. Your work is characterized by a holistic perspective where both pedagogical and psychological aspects are weighed in. A central part of the position is to provide consultation and supervision to staff. Through your support, you contribute to increased knowledge and insight into the different needs and conditions of children and students, and strengthen the staff's important role in relational work.
You also conduct psychological assessments, including those prior to admission to special primary schools. Together with your colleagues in the student health team, you actively work to remove obstacles to learning. You analyze needs at the individual, group, and organizational levels and contribute with interventions that make a real difference. You also have the opportunity to hold training courses, both independently and together with colleagues.
As a school psychologist, you also have an important role in the collaboration with the region's primary care and specialist clinics. Currently, there is an extra investment focused on preschools to strengthen child health. Here, you will become an important part of close collaboration with preschool staff, special education teachers, speech therapists, and the Child Health Center Manager – a development work where you can truly influence and contribute to progress.
Qualifications
You are a licensed psychologist and have a commitment to the development of children and young people, and you want to make a real difference in their daily lives. You are development-oriented, curious, and are happy to contribute ideas and perspectives that strengthen the operations. With a secure and professional approach, you easily communicate your psychological knowledge to different professional groups within schools as well as to external actors.
It is meritorious if you have previously worked with children and young people, preferably within preschools and/or schools. You have good command of Swedish in both speech and writing.
You thrive in a role where you get to switch between working independently and together with others, and you see the value in collaboration and cooperation. You have good ability to plan and organize your work and feel comfortable in a broad assignment where you get to use different working methods and approaches. You are solution-focused, flexible, and are happy to share your knowledge to contribute to development – both in the team and in the operations as a whole.
Personal suitability is given great weight.
