About Us

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is a cross-disciplinary specialist service that encompasses family therapy, cognitive, psychodynamic, and neuropsychological perspectives. Our task is to identify, investigate, and treat mental health issues in children, adolescents under the age of 18, and their families.

Our inpatient ward has 3 beds and also includes an emergency department. We are currently looking for a permanent colleague to complement our wonderful team. We exist for children and adolescents with severe psychiatric problems who are in need of inpatient care. The length of stay varies depending on the assignment, as we function as both an emergency ward and a treatment ward in newly renovated premises.

About the Job

As a nurse with us, you will be part of a work group of 19 colleagues consisting of care assistants, coordinators, nurses, ward doctors, and the ward manager. The work group includes both new and experienced staff. We collaborate closely with the outpatient services of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the competencies available there. Our ward is located in the same building as parts of Adult Psychiatry's inpatient care, and we support and help each other in the building when needed.

As a nurse, you will work as a team leader on certain days together with the coordinator. You will participate in rounds for our inpatients, during acute assessments, and plan and evaluate the patients' care needs and medical treatment. We receive calls around the clock from patients and relatives who need advice and support. In our daily work, we place great emphasis on ensuring that the whole family's need for support is highlighted, so it is important that you can adapt your approach and attitude based on the situation and the individual.

We are looking for a colleague who is confident in themselves and their competence, and who finds it challenging to work to some extent with the unpredictable. Within the work group, we try to make use of moments to share new knowledge, but also to recover and have fun at work.

You will have access to our internal introductory training, mentoring, supervision, and regular development time. You will work two weekends out of five on a rotating schedule with day, evening, and night shifts.

We offer you stimulating and meaningful work with many personal encounters and significant personal responsibility. With us, you have favorable holiday terms, a wellness allowance, access to a gym, and the possibility of flexible working hours.

About You

If you are our new colleague, you are a registered nurse. If you are a psychiatric nurse and/or have experience working with children and young people with eating disorders, suicidality, or psychosis in inpatient care, we consider this an advantage.

We want you to be flexible, have good cooperation skills, and be able to remain calm in stressful situations. You have a strong patient focus and see the opportunity to work together with patients and their families to find success in the treatment process.

For us, it is important that you have a genuine interest in working with children and adolescents with psychiatric problems and that you want to help develop our operations. We have recently begun implementing Safewards and aim to be finished with this by the end of 2027.

Personal suitability is given great weight. Applicants who are considered for employment must provide an extract from the Police Authority's criminal record register before employment.

Region Blekinge mobilizes all permanent staff in times of war. Some of our positions are security-classified, where the employee must undergo a security clearance interview and register check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585).

Since selection and interviews are conducted continuously, we ask you to submit your application as soon as possible.
