Recruitment: Preschool Teacher at the Sami Education Authority

The Sami Education Authority (Sameskolstyrelsen) is a government agency with its office in Jåhkåmåhkke, housing the school principal, controllers, HR, and case handlers. The Sami School is an educational form equivalent to the compulsory school, offering education from pre-school class to year 6. The starting point for teaching is Sami culture and the Sami language according to the curriculum for the Sami School. The Sami Education Authority also operates preschools in agreement with the respective municipalities. Our operations are located in Giron, Gárasavvon, Váhtjer, Jåhkåmåhkke, and Dearna.

The Sami Education Authority organizes distance education in the Sami languages and supports the development and production of teaching materials for Sami education.

About the Position

We are currently looking for an engaged preschool teacher for one of our preschools. This is a full-time position (1 vacancy).

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate teaching in accordance with the preschool's governing documents and from a Sami perspective, both individually and in work teams.
• Actively participate in developing successful learning environments together with other staff at the preschool.
• Participate in other work tasks at the preschool together with the staff.

Qualifications

• A teaching degree with a valid teaching license, or other education deemed suitable by the employer.
• Good command of North Sami, both orally and in writing.
• A positive view of people and the ability to build good relationships.
• Ability to prevent and resolve conflicts.
• Meticulous, flexible, and attuned to the needs of the children.
• A passion for working with children and young people.

• Salary: Monthly salary. The Sami Education Authority applies individual salary setting.
• Employment Type: Fixed-term employment.
