Do you gain energy from contributing to others' learning? Then you might be one of our next educators. Hovåsskolan is now looking for a teacher primarily in mathematics, but also in Natural Sciences (NO) and Technology, to teach grades 7–9.

Approximately 600 students attend Hovåsskolan, from preschool class to grade 9. The school also has an after-school center with four departments and a special needs school. Hovåsskolan is located near the sea and the forest. We utilize nature both during lesson time and during after-school activities.

Responsibilities

As a teacher in mathematics, Natural Sciences, and Technology, you will be attached to one of the secondary school's work teams and collaborate closely with your colleagues. The position includes responsibility for planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching, as well as mentorship. You will also participate in the school's collegial learning.

Through varied and adapted teaching, you provide the guidance and stimulation that individuals and groups need for learning. In your role, you take into account the student's personal development based on their own prerequisites.

To give you, as a newly graduated teacher, the best possible start in your career, you will be included in the Primary and Secondary School Administration's Teacher Academy introduction program for newly graduated teachers. This introduction provides you with a network of other newly graduated teachers and targeted activities during your first year as a teacher.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with the qualification to teach grades 7–9 in mathematics, but it is an advantage if you also teach Natural Sciences and Technology. If you have previous teaching experience, we view this as an advantage, but we also welcome applications from newly graduated teachers.

The position requires that you have a good ability to work together with others to perform tasks and achieve goals. By being interested and creating understanding for others, you contribute to a respectful work climate.
