School Counselor for Velanda School and Skofteby School – Temporary Position

Do you want to make a difference for the development, learning, and well-being of children and young people? We are now looking for an engaged school counselor for a temporary position at Velanda School and Skofteby School.

About the Position

As a school counselor with us, you are an important part of the student health team and work based on the mission of the School Act, focusing on students' health, development, and prerequisites for learning. Together with teachers, school management, and other professions within student health, you contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment.

You work in a promoting, preventive, and remedial manner, where relationship-building is a central part of the mission. We value that you are a present adult in the students' daily lives and actively build trusting relationships by being close to the operations.

Your Assignment

As a school counselor, you are responsible for the preventive and safety-promoting work at the schools. You work with follow-up and evaluation of the schools' work against discrimination and harassment, and collaborate closely with the principal regarding reports, investigations, and follow-up of suspected harassment.

You are an important link between school, home, and other societal actors and contribute with a psychosocial perspective in the student health work. You also have a central role in the schools' attendance work through follow-up, analysis, and collaboration with staff, students, and guardians.

Responsibilities

The position includes among other things:

• Conduct individual student interviews
• Collaborate with guardians and external actors
• Conduct social mapping as part of investigations regarding special support and participate in investigations prior to admission to adapted primary school
• Plan and implement group-strengthening and safety-creating measures
• Support teachers in investigations and follow-ups of harassment cases and school absenteeism
• Collaborate with educators and the student health team to support students' development and goal achievement
• Contribute to the schools' systematic student health and safety work

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a degree in social work or another education that the employer assesses as equivalent.

You have good knowledge of the school's mission and the student health work, as well as experience working with children and young people. Experience working as a school counselor is meritorious.

As a person, you are secure, relationship-building, and have a good ability to collaborate with different professions. You work independently, are structured, and easily create trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You see possibilities, take initiative, and actively contribute to the schools' development work.

Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.

Start date from 2026-10-01 or as agreed.

Employment until 2027-06-30 with possible extension.
