A Day at Work
As a Team Leader at the Child Authority (Myndighet Barn), you are responsible for leading and distributing the daily work within the unit, mentoring and supporting social secretaries, and making decisions according to current delegation. The Child Authority is responsible for protection assessments, investigations, and follow-up of interventions based on current legislation regarding children suspected of being at risk.
As a Team Leader, you are on call to coordinate and lead work in both planned and unplanned protection assessments. The role involves prioritizing what needs to be handled immediately versus what can be addressed later. This places high demands on stress tolerance, the ability to absorb information, and the ability to adapt and be flexible. A large part of the work is done in collaboration with case handlers, therapists, and other team leaders, making it important that you enjoy and are skilled at collaboration. As a Team Leader, you review decision materials written by social secretaries and provide guidance in individual case processing as well as group case processing.
Your Responsibilities
In the role of Team Leader, you are expected to guide and develop independent social secretaries and support collaboration, both internally and externally. You are part of a management group within the unit, consisting of the Unit Manager and two other Team Leaders, and are expected to drive processes forward and work on improving and developing the operations. The position also requires staying updated on changes in legislation, having good knowledge of case handling and documentation regarding investigations and follow-ups of interventions for children and young people, and having experience with the Child Welfare Service's authority functions. You are also expected to have a driving interest in continuing to develop a good work environment.
The Child Authority works according to the "Signs of Safety" approach, which means we are solution-focused and work as much as possible to create a good relationship and involvement with families to jointly reach what is best for the child. In the role of Team Leader, you are expected to have a transformational leadership style where you encourage, challenge, and motivate social secretaries to achieve the organization's goals.
Who Are You?
Requirements:
- Social Work Degree (Social Worker)
- Several years of experience in social work, preferably with children/young people and investigative work
- Experience with Signs of Safety and Safety Planning
- Valid driver's license (Category B)
- You must be able to express yourself well in speech and writing.
Merits:

The Child Authority works with children aged 0-11 and their families. Within the unit, there is one Unit Manager, three Team Leaders, 25 social secretaries, and two administrators.
We, and most of the Children and Young People's operations, are located in an open-plan office at Holmfastvägen 31. Children and Young People is a department that wants to develop its employees. We focus on a good work environment and invest in close-to-management support.
