The National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people and adults with substance abuse issues. We operate through youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. SiS Youth Home Fagared receives non-compulsory school-aged boys with psychosocial problems, criminality, and substance abuse. We have departments in Lindome, Öxnevalla, and Gothenburg.
Job Description
Do you want to make a vital difference for vulnerable people? Then the position of Treatment Assistant with awake night shifts at SiS Youth Home Fagared is a meaningful challenge. The work aims to provide our young people with good care and support around the clock. We are now looking for substitutes who can work awake nights on weekdays and weekends according to schedule, for our unit in Lindome.
As a Treatment Assistant with night shifts, you play a key role in maintaining stability and security for our young people. You contribute to upholding safety on the institution during the night according to our routines, monitor the department and the institution's grounds. You assist day staff with evening routines, support the young people at night when needed, answer phones, and handle documentation. Additionally, some cleaning tasks are included according to established routines. You will work on building safe relationships and help ensure our young people receive the security they need to break old habits. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.
Our vision is to be a place for change, which permeates our approach, engagement, and attitude. As a new employee, you will undergo mandatory basic training. The training alternates between theory and guided introduction, preparing you for the treatment role in SiS operations.
Qualifications
Personal suitability is the key to life-changing impact. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. It is equally important that you have a solid positive view of humanity, great empathetic ability, and the capacity to build good relationships. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressurized situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are willing to share your knowledge with colleagues.
You must also have:
- Completed and approved upper secondary education.
- Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., within psychiatry, residential care (HVB), or care and assistance.
- B driver's license.
- Good Swedish language skills in speech and writing.
- At least a 2-year post-secondary education from a folk high school or university college (KY/YH) or equivalent education. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.*
*Exceptions to the requirement of at least a two-year post-secondary education may be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468).

Meritorious Experience
- Experience from client-oriented work.
- Experience working with our target group (e.g., youth care, LSU, etc.).
- Experience working awake nights.
Great importance is attached to personal suitability.
Employment
Working hours are according to schedule, nights – weekdays and weekends. The positions are fixed-term contracts (substitutes) for up to 12 months on a full-time basis. Start date by agreement.
