Folkuniversitetet in Gothenburg provides basic adult education and Swedish for Immigrants (SFI) courses on behalf of the City of Gothenburg.
We are now looking for an engaged counselor who shares our view on the equal value of people and their right to knowledge. We are driven by the desire to see people grow and develop, and together we have a shared responsibility to ensure that all our students succeed in their studies.
About the position
We are expanding our team with an additional counselor with a social work degree and experience. Today, the team consists of school leaders, coaches, teachers, special educators, and counselors. We are driven by enabling people to develop and take a shared responsibility for ensuring that all students succeed.
As a counselor with us, you work in a health-promoting manner in close collaboration with management, educators, and representatives from working life and the surrounding society. You work in a supportive and preventive manner by analyzing the needs of the operations and students to then work with various interventions. You follow up and evaluate your and the student health services' work so that our interventions meet the students' needs. You work with individual conversations, group interventions, and activities related to the unit's plan against harassment and discrimination.
Your qualifications and background
We are looking for you with a social work degree and experience from the education sector, preferably from adult education.
We would like you to have:
- a genuine interest in learning and human development
- interest in and experience in conducting education
- digital competence and interest in new digital tools
- interest in and experience in collaborating with working life, e.g., via internships, mentoring
- good administrative skills
- experience working independently, creatively, and solution-focused
- interest in operational development and working preventively and health-promoting
Good collaboration with other colleagues in the team so that students can grow as individuals and reach their goals is a prerequisite for succeeding in the assignment. We assume that you share our view on the equal value of people and their right to knowledge.
About the employment
Fixed-term part-time position at 70-80% with a chance of extension and transition to permanent employment, start date August 3. The work is carried out in our premises at Lindholmen.
