Workplace Description

Vasa Real is a primary school located on Norrmalm in Stockholm, where all Mathematics/Natural Sciences/Technology (Ma/NO/TK) teachers are certified and maintain high teaching quality. We have approximately 800 students in grades 1–9. The school has a Jewish profile, classes with a music focus (grades 7–9), and a reception group for newly arrived students. Teaching is conducted from a holistic perspective where all parts work to ensure every student has the opportunity to reach their full potential. Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, certified Mathematics/Natural Sciences/Technology (Ma/NO/TK) teacher for the later part of primary school (grades 4-9). Through your engagement, you will make students interested and active in your lessons, with full focus on their goal achievement. Daily tasks include planning both individually and in groups, conducting, evaluating, and ensuring a high-quality pedagogical operation that creates context for the students' entire school day. You belong to a work team that collaborates around the students at the unit. The position includes mentorship. Vasa Real focuses on development, and you will become an important cog in this work.

Qualifications

You are a certified Mathematics/Natural Sciences/Technology (Ma/NO/TK) teacher for grades 4-9.

It is important that you:

• Bring teaching to life so that students understand the subject content and its usefulness.
• Have effective classroom leadership strategies, so you can meet both students in need of support and students in need of extra challenges in an adequate manner.
• Involve the student in planning and develop the student's ability to learn.
• Take advantage of the results of current research and development work and implement it in your teaching.
• View collaboration with other Ma/NO teachers as a necessity to increase equity for students.
• Take responsibility for your own competence development to develop in your work.

It is important that you lead and organize work so that a secure learning environment is created. You view collegial learning as a natural starting point in your entire working method. It is meritorious if you have at least three years of teaching experience, but newly graduated teachers are also welcome to apply.

As a person, you are motivated by close collaboration and listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts if they arise. You understand people's different conditions for absorbing knowledge and communicate clearly. You plan and organize your work in a way so that all students receive support and/or challenges. Seeing digital aids as a natural part of the "toolkit" is also important.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability and good cooperation skills, and interaction with students, guardians, and colleagues must be verified even during reference checks.
