Vasa Real is a comprehensive school in the city center facing an exciting development. For the upcoming school year, we have approximately 850 students in grades F-9. The school is located in the heart of Vasastan at Odenplan and has a Jewish profile (grades 7-9) as well as a music-focused class in each grade at the upper secondary level.

Job Description

As a Social Studies (SO) teacher at Vasa Real, you actively participate in your subject team to influence pedagogical development at the school together with professional colleagues. The subject team is led by our lead teacher in Social Studies.

You are well acquainted with the school's governing documents and feel confident in designing and varying your teaching to engage our students.

We are looking for a person with secure leadership who has a burning ambition to initiate projects and collaborations with external actors.

You plan, conduct, and evaluate teaching in the social studies subjects. You are a mentor together with another educator for a class and belong to a work team. The work team is led by a team leader.

With high expectations of students, you work both individually and together with other colleagues to give them the very best teaching.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher for grades 7-9 with eligibility in Social Studies. You work with formative assessment, have experience as a mentor, and reflect on practical work in a systematic way, both individually and together with colleagues.

It is also meritorious if you have experience leading and organizing work to create a secure learning environment, involve the student in planning, and view collegial learning as a natural starting point for creating new and in-depth knowledge.

You are secure, stable, and have self-awareness. Your ability to collaborate is very good because you listen and communicate clearly. You have a good understanding of how students absorb knowledge and adapt your teaching style. With great enthusiasm for your subjects, you awaken students' curiosity and can explain complex matters in an understandable way. You are curious, driven, and enjoy tackling challenges you are faced with. We place great importance on personal suitability.

It is meritorious if you have good knowledge of ICT and can use these in your teaching.
